For all we know Melania’s jacket message was to her husband. Or maybe no message at all. I highly doubt it was towards the families ripped apart as she was against the whole thing.
And...that does not matter because it made her look uncaring.

And as for assuming -- nope -- her spokesperson clearly did not say she grabbed it by accident. She chose to say instead of focussing on the jacket we should be focussing on what Melania's actions are -- um what. She showed up for pics.
Trump says she was making a dig at reporters. Why would she divert the attention from the kids to the media.
I think it's a sad day in America when we're actually trying to decipher what she meant when she wore a jacket that said "I really don't care." That does not leave much open to interpretation.

Whether she meant it for her husband, the press, those children, or Peter Fonda is just irrelevant. It was unbecoming a First Lady. Period.

This is 100% bait. This is an effective strategy to get the media to criticize her wardrobe so that they can criticize the media for criticizing her wardrobe and delegitimize us as fake news.
I sure hope this is it. It shows how mean spirited they are and that they really don't care about the kids but about stuff like this....but it is a little clever at least.
any other reason is just plain dumb....and speaks to their incompetence.
She is the ONLY one from Trump’s camp to visit the border.
She is the ONLY one from Trump’s camp that didn’t defend what was happening when the rest of his administration was excusing it.
She is the ONLY one from his camp wanting to do anything about reuniting families.
She is the ONLY one who has cared.
I don’t know why she wore the jacket, you don’t know why she wore the jacket. All we have here is speculation over a piece of clothing. None of that diminishes her efforts and the fact that she has been the lone voice of dissent in the Trump camp.
For all we know, he made her go because he did not want to.
