I am an unapologetic conservative residing in California, a state whose political climate resembles Germany and Canada more than the rest of the U.S.

Here in California, many people (including Republicans) voted for Hillary because they actually thought of Hillary as a conservative! Democrats bashed Hillary as too "conservative!" Even "conservative" (actually purple) Orange County went for Hillary by a good margin!

I think Hillary and Obama and Bill Clinton (and a whole host of other democrats not toeing the Bernie Sanders line) are craftily trying to make themselves look a whole lot more moderate (or even conservative) than they actually are so they can win some Republican votes. Want proof? Look no further than the fact that Hillary, Bill, and Joe Biden are actually members of the American-Israel Public Affairs Committee! How did they sneak in like that?

On a separate note, liberals keep pounding into our heads that all of America, even ultra-liberal California, Maryland, or New York are far to the right of our enlightened European brethren. Fine, America as a whole is more conservative than Europe as a whole. But California, New York and other solid blue states are probably just as, if not more, liberal than Germany or Canada. Even Germany, Canada, and Australia have influential conservative pockets: Bavaria, Alberta, and Queensland. Abortion is virtually illegal in Northern Ireland. Many other European countries have far stricter limits on abortion than the US (see below link).

The only reason why California might appear "more conservative" than Germany is because California is forced to abide by relatively conservative federal laws proposed by Texas, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Utah, and all the other red states that wield significant political clout. Left to its own devices, California would rapidly become just as liberal as Germany.

Since when is Florida a conservative state?
Trump won the state by 1% of the vote and elected Obama twice.

Very true, but most Californians think it is full of angry old white men and therefore ultra conservative. That's how liberal California is!

Hey! Pretending is IN! Look at Trump pretending to be a Conservative who cares about anyone but himself.
