Was SJW ever considered a positive term? I think most rational people realized they were dealing with lunatics the first time they heard the phrase "social justice warrior".

It's not an old term, It was coined by someone for some reason quite recently, probably specifically as a pejorative.
However, social justice is a high principal and a worthy cause. The virtuous will embrace it.

I disagree. Social justice implies finding someone guilty and punishing them. I don't think that is a healthy way to approach things. The vengeful will embrace it.

They smash windows. They attack people. They are violent.
They attempt to shut down any speaker that they don't like on college campuses. There haev been lawsuit regarding security fees at events because of the amount of damage and injury that these SWJ groups cause. In fact a conservative college group just won their lawsuit about the excessive fees that the college was putting on them for hosting speaking engagements to cover of the amount of destruction that the college THOUGHT the SJW groups would do.
Not drinking anything. Just know facts. /shrug/ Get them.
I am not into the liberal platform, but SJWs are not 'liberals'. The may have some alignment, but SJWs are no more liberal than white nationalists are 'conservatives'.
