Calling a news agency fake news (especially those that lie about you and slander you in a way they've not done any other American President, not even Bush II or even Reagan) is NOT an attack on the freedom of the press. Facebook, Twitter, and Youtube are more attackers of the freedom of the press (by blocking news they don't like or sticking "fact checkers" around news articles) than Trump is.

Also, Obama secretly monitored Fox news: https://www.cbsnews.com/news/fox-new...urt-documents/

What did Trump do like that?

Besides, look up John Adams and "Alien and Sedition Acts" before you call Trump the biggest assaulter of the freedom of the press.

Both suck.

Just a few days ago, the US Supreme Court struck down a California law that forced family-planning groups (formed to offer adoption etc.) to also mention abortion as a means of "family planning".

The left makes people listen to them, by passing laws requiring people to say and support things they disagree with or don't like. That's just as much a violation of Free Speech, as a law forbidding people to speak at all.

Trump invented the term fake news. It's just his lie when the news reports something he fears or doesn't like.

As I said, replying to what someone said and offering counterarguments, is not "stifling free speech". It's PART of free speech... for everybody.

If you want to say something that some people disagree with or don't like, expect them to say something back. Again, that's PART of free speech.

If you then want to avoid the subject or quit the debate (as leftists frequently do, especially on this board), that's not "somebody shutting you down". It's YOU shutting yourself down. Often caused by you realizing how wrong your point was. And whose fault is that?

Which is worse?

The "news" agencies producing Fake News (lying, omitting stories that show the other guy was right, etc.)?

Or President Trump pointing out what they are doing, and publicly calling it what it is?

Naturally, the Left goes after Trump with a vengeance, while carefully avoiding discussing what the "news" agencies were actually doing.
