The United States has been ranked for the first time among the 10 nations deemed to be the most dangerous for women by experts in the field. A survey by the Thomson Reuters Foundation of about 550 experts in women's issues around the globe labeled the U.S. the 10th most dangerous nation in terms of the risk of sexual violence, harassment and being coerced into sex.
The foundation said the U.S. placement on the dubious list was down largely to the #MeToo and Time's Up campaigns increasing awareness of sexual violence and intimidation of women in the U.S. in the wake of the criminal allegations against movie mogul Harvey Weinstein.
1. India
2. Afghanistan
3. Syria
4. Somalia
5. Saudi Arabia
6. Pakistan
7. Democratic Republic of Congo
8. Yemen
9. Nigeria
10. United States
Let's be honest - they put us in there to get attention. I guess it worked since I am posting it.
Even with the metoo stuff, they could have easily put another nation like the others.
Among the victims of the metoo movement are those who are multi-millionaires (actresses). I don't think you can say that with numerous other countries similar to the top 9.
You have nothing factual to back up your dismissal of our ranking. A lot of women get murdered by husbands, boyfriends, and total strangers. Guns are everywhere and many of the victims are women. We have more people murdered by guns than anywhere on earth.
I don't believe MeToo should have any bearing on how dangerous it is for women. If they consider sexual harassment to be inclusive on their findings than such statistics are hard to quantify.

Sort by gender then homicide rate, there are over 100 countries on that list with higher homicide rates where women are the victims. Over 100, if you didn't catch that the first time. There is your factual information. To claim the US is somehow more dangerous is obviously just a gimmick or play for media attention.
American women have more freedom to travel around and risk more harm. Women in other countries are pretty much kept home and can't go out so they are protected but have no freedom.
Silver lining: less illegal immigrants will come to America
Oops I just checked, they’re still coming.
Looks like all these anti-American articles just aren’t convincing millions of people from risking life, limb, and kids to be here in this “dangerous” country
