I agree...and this will but a damper in unions money to democrats, which receive about 95% of all union political donations.
I was a union member for 34 years and I and many of my co-workers always complained, not so much about the dues themselves, as a lot of good was done in the community but about my union dues going to political parties.
I was forced to join a union years ago. It cost me money and I got nothing for it when I needed it most. Despite years of experience I had to start at the same level as someone just out of school. I had a lazy coworker with lots of seniority who basically watched TV all day online -- loved Jon Stewart, Letterman, Maher and Colbert.
Neither of which protects your wages. Also, those who support unions can also make a decent argument that we would not have these things if it hadn't been for unions.
actually they do. for instance lets say you are getting paid less than someone else doing the same job you do with similar experience and seniority. you can go to the EEOC and complain, and force your employer to pay you the same rate the other person is getting. i have had to do this at one point. the beauty is that your employer would also have to give you back pay from the point when the other persons pay was raised and yours wasnt. you might want to read up on the laws in this area.
No Collective bargaining for ALL employees could mean LOWER Wages for those not represented, no vacations/unpaid vacation, no insurance, no safety rules, no medical insurance, and no job security.
Serves 'em right. People forget what unions did for this Country, and the American worker.
Or perhaps you like having the boss make 100 times more than the guys doing to work?
So those people that aren't in unions never have high wages, vacation or benefits?

If the employer decides that rate should go from $25 to $12, neither law addresses that.
This is what I don't get. Much of Trump's base could benefit from unions and collective bargaining. What about those alleged manufacturing and coal workers? All the other blue collar unions?
The workers themselves don't really have any say in where their union dues go. Union dues that are designated to democratic candidates are at about 95% of all union political donation.
But in my experience as being an union member for 34 years the majority of my co-workers didn't support that our union due being given to democrats. Just the hierarchy who are dazzled by democratic candidates who promise them the happy days ahead and after the election give next to nothing.
Union members most likely supported Trump...union leadership not so much.
This only has to do with public sector union's (State, County, City).
