It has nothing to do with US laws or any US "system." European nations since WW2 have become wealthy places with a high standard of living. There's simply no reason for most people to want to move away from there anymore.

The GOP has been building an activist court for a while. What was Originalism all about? Just another way to push GOP policy. I would not be surprised if the Supreme Court becomes ignored until those activists retire or die in office.

This is true.

Europe could send us another demographic they don’t want: gypsies. Most would would also be non-white and that is just going to burst the OP’s bubble.

Besides, white people in Europe have a very, very low birth rate. Small towns are disappearing. Most people want to live in large urban centers. They would do the same thing here.

Sorry, the demographic winter is coming.

I don't know if it can be justified or not. But a non-European ban is certainly one way to isolate America from the rest of the world and guarantee that you will get no more innovative people (like Elon Musk from Canada) immigrating to America. No where near as many (if any) brilliant scientists, inventers, technological geniuses, artists and musicians to come to America and add their genes and intelligence to the American gene pool.

No where near as many (if any) wealthy tourists from Japan, China, India, Australia, Canada, South Africa, Saudi Arabia spending their money in America when they know they are no longer welcome there. No more snow-birds from Canada to be a guaranteed annual source of income for America for 6 months of every year. A loss of more trade, loss of trust, a further reduction of allies, no more foreign investors from any country, an ever growing increase of enemies from around the world.

I doubt that many (if any) people from European countries (no matter what their race and religion which is so diverse in Europe now) will want to immigrate to America let alone come as tourists, when it becomes more isolationist and hostile and has gained more enemies than friends. Why would they want to come to visit or to live in a country whose government is trying to make everyone else in the rest of the world hate it?

Sure, what the hell, why not? Go for it if you really think it will make America great again. Let Trump cause you all to isolate yourselves, lock yourselves away like in a prison and become the enemy of the rest of the world and see where it gets you. You can become just like the poor desperate people in North Korea.

What a damn fool moronic idea it is, but I can just see Trump doing something idiotic like that. Why should he stop at travel bans when it would be so much more fun to make America alienate the whole world?

If they had left the bake shop decision alone, this following ruling would make a lot more sense.
The lies and distortions from the media and from the left are major factors contributing to Trump's victory. There is no "Muslim ban". The travel ban is limited to a few select countries with a long history of supporting terrorism. These do all happen to be Muslim countries. But they are only a small portion of Muslim countries in this world, and immigration from other Muslim countries is permitted. Now, those 7 countries also have non-Muslim populations-and those people are banned as well. So calling this a "Muslim ban" demonstrates either extreme ignorance or an attempt at deception.

Given that Islam is first and foremost a political system, one that embraces savagery, slaughter of non-members, the murder of gays, subjugation of women and rape of children, I believe anyone that professes a loyalty to that political system should be banned from entering this country, the same as I would feel that individuals that profess to support Nazism. But that was not the case.

Racial-ethnic supremacy? All non-European would exclude Japan and Korea, two very well-developed countries. Also excluded is India and China, also tending to have well-educated immigrants. BTW, would that include excluding Africans and other non-Europeans who have post-graduate degrees?

I at least appreciate your honesty in showing your, ahem... racial standards.

Things are not the same anymore. Remember, the time when alot of European immigrants came here, those nations were often poor or dealing with their own problems. Nowadays, many of those countries have their act together. There was a time when Polish and Italian immigrants came here in large numbers. And back in those days, many people didn't want immigrants from Southern and Eastern Europe immigrating here. Those days are done. While some immigrants from Eastern Europe are coming here, many more are moving to other European countries like Germany, France, Spain, and the UK. Some move to Canada. Europe has changed alot since the days when Europeans came here in large numbers. Not as many are coming here because many don't feel a desire to immigrate, and many that do immigrate to other European nations. It is not so much that the USA has changed, but alot of the world has.

Because our corporatist pseudo-democracy, plus the segment of voters paranoid about "socialism", will not support a European-style social safety net (90% to 100% government funded health care, education, and such). They also have less corrupt politics (i.e. less "interest group money") sloshing through their government than Washington does. They also don't want to live in a land whose political culture so largely based on government as a "necessary evil", rather than as a potential force for good.

Culture-wise, they also see bragging about careers and making lots of money as being in poor taste, unlike Americans. They also don't want to live in a macho-based culture either (granted that attitudes less prevalent in some parts of the USA than others, but nevertheless there is a excessively macho streak to our culture). They also don't want to live in a country with one firearm per person while their countries have probably 1/5 that rate at most, and more likely only 1/10 of that.

Get rid of all of that and maybe we'll attract more of Europe's "best and brightest".
