Trump wants the parade for Trump. he wants to be saluted by thousands of troops as he sits up in the VIP booth wearing his honorary uniform with a bunch of patches, ribbons, and medals.
I love my country. I support our troops and I honor those who didn't make it home. That said, I do not want $20,000,000 of our tax dollars spent on a friggin' military parade.
How many homeless veterans would $20,000,000 feed?
What if $20,000,000 was donated to the biggest veteran suicide programs?
I wonder how many will actually show up for the parade. On your day off you drive downtown DC to watch a stupid parade? I won't be there. And I bet most people feel the same way.
It would be funny, hilarious in fact, if the troops marched for blocks thru empty streets with no one there to watch.
Trump's rallies are huge, so his parade will be huge crowds too.

Are you suggesting he (an American president) deserves a military parade? I think I have to ask because I don't want to put words in your mouth. If I misunderstood your post, I sincerely apologize.
I am not saying this to be mean, I voted Trump too. A president is a servant, a public servant, not a king. An American president is not above any of us. A military belongs to ALL of us (the American people), not a president.
