As we know the ICE used to be INS, until Bush abolished it and created DHS, which is a massive agency trying to do countless tasks. Now many people within ICE, as well as many Dems are asking to abolish ICE, and assign the immigration duties to another agency like it was before.

http://thehill.com/latino/394757-mor...abolish-agency

More than a dozen U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) special agents have signed a letter to Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen calling to eliminate ICE and shift its work to another bureau.

At least 19 ICE investigators signed the letter to Nielsen, saying they were concerned that the Trump administration’s crackdown on immigration was preventing them from carrying out the agency’s other duties.
.
.
The agents suggested that Nielsen create a second bureau just for their investigations and another for immigration detentions and deportations.

Yes. And?

What they are saying makes sense, while there are no good reasons to oppose it.

Or do you have a good reason why it should remain under the massive DHS?

It makes so much sense that 19 people out of 20,000 think it’s a good idea .

Do you have a good reason why it should remain under the massive DHS? They are saying they can't focus on immigration enforcement with all the other things DHS is asking them to do.

Are you arguing just for the sake of arguing? Or do you just happen to love massive government agencies?

Read the damn letter itself. It is a request to re-org two sections of ICE into two agencies. Not abolish ICE.

DHS= Department of Homeland Security .

Criminal illegal aliens are a threat to the Homeland wouldn’t you agree?

LOL. That's what I said. It is the same thing. Dissolve / abolish ICE, and form another bureau to enforce immigration. Its what they did with INS.

You have to abolish one in order to create the new one or two in this case, one for investigations, and one for immigration.

Well stop acting like it is eliminating something. They want two additional bloated bureaucracies instead of one.

They should replace it with a new agency called FIRE.

Federal Immigration Regulation and Enforcement.
