You would never ever vote for Trump but just like I occasionally agreed with Obama's decisions, you realize Trump is right sometimes.

NATO was formed to protect western nations from the Soviet Union and the Warsaw Pact nations...they are no longer a threat and therefore, NATO no longer serves the purpose that it was formed for. I guess it could be argued that it still serves a purpose but I think we are too divergent in our thinking with Europe to be aligned with them through NATO.

Asking everyone to engage in your fantasy ???

Nato is not going anywhere.

Ask Merkel if she wants US troops in Germany.

About time for EU nations to defend themselves against their energy supplier, Russia. EU is a bunch of spineless socialist elitists who dally in Brussels in hopes that whatever crisis prompted them to meet, would be over by the time they issued their statement of indignation.

Problem is the socialism has to go away if they are to finance their own defense.

EU has already been invaded and they did nothing to stop it.

The United States of Europe was a globalists pipedream few EU residents favored.

Trump stirred Nato countries up to make them uncomfortable about the current lopsided financing of their own protection from, what? Russia? Obama told us, well he told Mitt, Russia was not our enemy and it isn't the 1950s.

Trump made Nato nations cough up owed dues which strengthened Nato and annoyed putin. Meanwhile it was Obama who reneged on the missiles promised to Poland to avoid upsetting Putin.

Obama weakened US forces to a point planes had to raid museums for parts...and Putin smiled.

Who in their right mind would sell uranium to Russia????????????? Wait for it...Obama!

Russia invades Crimea, Obama sends food and blankets, Putin sends in troops and armaments. Who loves Putin? Say it, it's okay, Obama loves Putin!

According to media reports Trump has the Pentagon examing whether some US Forces could be withdrawn from Germany and other countries and based in countries that meet the 2%.

Poland is the most likely country to see relocation of US Forces from Germany.

US should move forces in Germany to Poland - Stars and Stripes

In terms of the UK, no thank you, we do not want a US Army Brigade with nothing to do but peel potatos based here just becuase we meet the 2%.

EU has experienced more War, bloodshed, destruction then almost ANY place on earth! They would rather not loose 30-40 million more civilians. And because of that, they prefer to talk, instead of sending tens of thousands of troops to die again, like it did from WW2 going all the way back to 1200...

Again.. American sitting on their island, with no enemies at their boarders, never seen entire cities destroyed in one nights bombing, talking about EU cowardice..

No EU countries are Socialist.. read up on what it means.

EU has already been invaded and they did nothing to stop it.

EU countries when pushed has no problem killing millions... its done so again and again in history. Are you afraid of a few hundred thousands, with no access to heavy tanks, artillery, airplanes, ground-to-air missiles, medical facilities, Navy, Air Force, Army or logistics chain?

You should look at numbers how much "defense spending" increased under Obama

Who in their right mind would sell uranium to Russia????????????? Wait for it...Obama!
Well, we all know you can´t back that up with facts.. the Republican led, congress, senate, White House, DOJ would be all over that would they not? All Hat and no cattle..

Russia invades Crimea, Obama sends food and blankets, Putin sends in troops and armaments. Who loves Putin? Say it, it's okay, Obama loves Putin!

You gotta thread very lightly when it comes to dictators, with the means Putin has available.. you where willing to go to war against Putin for Crimea? Good on you...

To much...

If the bases weren't NATO then it would be up to the host country and it's Parliament as to when and where US Forces could use bases, as opposed to the current NATO agreements which allow the US far less scrutiny.

Countries in the past such as France have just told US Forces to leave back in the 1967 after the French left NATO's intergrated military structure, and without the NATO framework it would be up to individual countries whether to allow US Forces to operate or not.

Some countries such as New Zealand have gone further stopping any military ships docking unless they declare they are nuclear free, which is something the US Navy won't do.

You are 100 percent correct. Unfortunately, too many people are too stupid to protect our legacy as Americans. We will be lead by the nose by Putin.

NATO costs the US very little, as you are still going to have the same troops and military whether they are in Europe or not, as no one is demanding that the US spend $700 Billion on defence.

Of the 1,281,900 active US Military Service Personnel, there are 65,000 in Europe and this figure is set to drop further when the 15 USAF earmarked for closure go.

If Americans want to leave then that's up to them, and the Germans have made it clear that they won't meet the 2%, so it's your call.

In terms of a US withdrawl most European countries have so few American Service Personnel that I don't think anyone would actually notice iof you withdrew them, although you might find some global perations more difficult without some of the bases.

Thanks for the answer ^^^
We could bring them home and put them and our military technology on the border.
We’d get a lot more bang for our buck with them on the border. Wouldn’t need a wall then!
