Those slacker countries have chosen to spend on social programs at the expense of their military. Why should we have to pay for their defense when they don't care enough about it to maintain a strong military. So sorry Gemany cannot afford their 2% when they open their borders generously and support many refugees. If Poland can pony up their share wealthier countries surely can.
They don’t need to spend trillions on defense. We do that because we’re stupid, and can’t stay out of dumb wars.
They do the smart thing: spend money on their citizenry.
Liberals have been screaming for years that we spend too much on the military and that we need to reduce our troop presence overseas. Obama was praised by Liberals for reducing defense spending. Now that a President is actually talking about pulling our troops out of overseas bases, the Liberals are upset about it and keeping troops overseas is magically a good idea again?
The most amazing thing about American politics is how quickly Liberals change their minds.
Obama didn't reduce defense spending. It was higher when he left office than it was when he took office.
End it immediately, along with all the other aid for allies crap.

"How come I'm the only so-called Conservative on this stage that thinks it's madness to be giving Pakistan billions in foreign aid and bombing them simultaneously?"

Let’s see.... We have done more than our fair share of defending western European countries from a foreign attack ever since the 1940s. So, how about they return the favor, spend their money and help defend the United States from foreign enemies so that we can concentrate on other things?
That would be a kind gesture and good payback for starters, IMO.
