Actually I think it is crumbling now due to a general lack of empathy. You say it’s microscopic division, but the people who are born with the genetic construct that makes sexual identification more complex would have to disagree that the issue is microscopic.
Instead, it’s a lack of adult empathy and an idea that it is “my way or the highway” that is more the issue. You don’t get to choose how people define themselves and there is a LOT of science to back up that previously defined sexuality is not as simple as we like to think. Male and female are not all that is available according to science. Instead of worrying about (and causing) division, why not be empathetic and understanding?

No one is denying their rights and no one cares. We do not have to make it a federal case. Do you realize your narrative is actually hurting the very people you claim you wish to help?

People can "identify" as anything they want and they can try to surgically
"reassign" their gender, but biology says there are only XX and XY.
Me, I don't care. It's all kinda amusing, but it doesn't effect me.
Sex and gender are not the same thing.
And for what it's worth, there are more possibilities of genetic sex beyond XY and XX (although, yes, those are by far the most common ones).
