How do you feel about cultures that clash violently with the native culture?
I'm not a fan of clashes within cultures, let alone newcomers crashing around in a new country/culture!
Not sure I understand why you posed that question?
I think Americans would be surprised at how much adjustment they'd have to do to integrate themselves:
I think it's great that Denmark is actively trying to help newcomers learn more about how to live in Danish society.
Just to be clear, it's not out of benevolence. Letting so many come, and in a short period of time, may have been out of benevolence...... and cluelessness.
But, they have wised-up and realized that they will lose their culture if they don't do this. Not to mention, how can the immigrants ever earn a reasonable living if they can't speak the language. They will have a revolution if they don't make productive, semi-assimilated citizens out of them.
The tax burden in all Scandanavian countries is intense. The working citizens will not tolerate giving newcomers handouts forever. You have to earn your keep.

The U.S. needs to learn from Denmark. We instead encourage "immigrants" to colonize rather than to assimilate. And yes, we will lose our identifying culture eventually with that stupid practice. We need to stop giving welfare to foreigners also.

So you're fine with providing $100 000 a year in free, high quality child care to immigrant families as "punishment"?

Where did I say that? No, I'm not fine with that at all. My agreement with Denmark is integrating immigrants into their country so that they become Danes and nothing but.

Many would argue that the first major step backwards in getting the biggest number of newcomers to assimilate to America was in providing most everything in both English and Spanish.
In the long haul that was likely a bad move and set the pace for other things that don't help them get up to speed with American life.

You agree with what they are doing but dont think anyone should pay for it?
Its the taxpayers who foot the bill if you want integration by government means. If you want the government to stay out of child care, education etc, then you are not supporting what they are doing.
