Whatever you answer for any of the above should apply to public officials as well, considering they are individual Americans just like anyone in any of the above groups.

Except that none of those are being paid by my tax dollars. Politicians are, so it is ok to confront them in public as long as it is respectful. Say what you want to say and then leave unless the person wants to discuss what you say.

Our tax dollars don't make gov't officials our indentured servants, on the clock for us 24/7. If you wouldn't mind your boss interrupting you during your down time to berate your job performance in a restaurant, a play, a sporting match, etc. that's your perogative, of course ... but we have anti-slavery and labor laws here to prevent such human rights abuses. And those laws protect even the officials that we love to hate.

There's a time and place for discourse.

And if you write to the Congress person responsible, but you are not from their district, they file it in their garbage can.

The people being harassed should put their finger down their throat and throw up all over the people who are getting in their face.

The same Trump supporters who cheered at Joe Wilson screaming "You lie!" are angry that Scott Pruitt of all people was confronted for harming the very thing he's supposed to protect by a person that pays his salary.

This applies equally to Pelosi, Pruitt, Schumer or Paul Ryan and countless others.
Stockhold syndrome @work
We have no protection against their 24/7 intrusions into our homes, our communications, our finances, our healthcare, our jobs, our relationships, even our own bodies. So no.

You don't like what a politician has to say or their actions in office? Vote. Voting does a lot more good than being obnoxious to somebody during their time off in their private lives.

I'd sure like to see Maxine's reaction to an obnoxious Trump supporter with a MAGA hat on getting in her face and confronting her about her policy. Something tells me she would not like it. Yet she calls for democrats to confront and harass republicans. Hypocrite.

I don't agree with it in the same way I don't agree with Obama being called a liar during state of the union or Trump calling people names as often as he presumably changes his underwear. Right wing nut jobs who worship Sean Hannity and elected the biggest lout to every brave public office all of a sudden are appalled by a lack of civil discourse. The feigned outrage is hilarious.

Um? Ok? Why would I write a congressperson not from my district?

Trumplings are aiming cowardly anonymous death threats at Maxine Waters.

Not only that, she gets the full hate treatment from tRump himself.

She takes it standing up.

tRump's cabinet boys & girls want Secret Service protection.
