God forbid there is a major catastrophic even, the President could appoint 9 Justices if the entire Supreme Court was wiped out. The odds are not high that they will, but it is possible.

Since the Trump administration is under investigation, he shouldn't be allowed to nominate anyone until the investigation is over. But the supreme court needs to be balanced so it represents all of us

The Supreme Court of the United States does not "represent" us. Their role is to interpret the text of the Constitution and strike down laws that are unconstitutional. Of course if you do this properly, you get labelled "conservative." By this standard we should 9 "conservative" justices, though 5, 6, or 7 would be a good start!

He is already preparing to nominate a 2nd Justice when Kennedy retires.

Now we look to Breyer and Ginsburg and their advanced age. If they pass away (god forbid), or steps down due to infirmity...can they last 2 to 6 more years? Could Trump actually appoint 4 (!) Justices? Of course, that depends on the republicans keeping the house and senate.

What do you guys have to say? Should there be a limit to how many Justices a POTUS can appoint?
Are you really that devoid of history to know the answer to this question?

We are a country of laws, and our primary founding document is our Constitution, which discusses this in Article III.
A potus nominates all federal judges, and the senate confirms or denies them. FDR nominated 8 scotus nominees, and hundreds of other federal judges.

Also, aside from you not capitalizing God when you said (God forbid), any of the justices could pass away, including the ones nominated by (R's), or even the young ones nominated by Obama. Needless to say that is what happened to Scalia, as he was not the oldest, but passed away nevertheless.

So yes, if God forbid all the justices on the SC died in a bus crash, Trump would be the one to nominate all nine to replace them.
He would then have the record which most people assume will never be broken, since FDR had multiple terms beyond just two.

Thomas is only 70.

That's very young in SC years.

Will the left ever admit they nominated the wrong candidate for POTUS? Clearly nominating Hillary gave Trump the best chance of winning. Yet they blame everything and everyone but themselves. I think this is why they will never get closure regarding the 2016 election. It will always haunt them.

Thomas, leaving also?
I want Clarence Thomas to stay on the court, he's been a consistent conservative voice, and because he's black the liberals can't accuse him of racism and can't really attack him for his conservative beliefs. If the liberals demand that race or gender matter, Trump can appoint a conservative woman or a conservative minority to the court.

Can't wait for that old hag Ginsburg to retire! She and Nancy Pelosi are just so desperately holding on......but both their times have come!
