Some cliff notes...

Crowley was gerrymandered into another district - and won with 70% of the vote the last time. So there was no real challenger, and team DNC put no money and time into Crowley this time around. However...

New York City’s working class white population is an endangered species. If you’re not on welfare or earning well in the six figures, you can’t afford to live there. Crowley’s district was 46% Hispanic. It had the second highest share of Latino voters in New York. The machine pol was living on borrowed time.

It’s hard to imagine a more vulnerable politician than doughy Joe, the echo of a 19th century political establishment of barstools and crony government jobs, used to winning ¾ of the vote in safe districts and who had forgotten how to compete in an election (if he ever knew how) facing a Hispanic district.

The media has portrayed it as a victory for socialism and how she is becoming Obama 2.0... which in a sense is true in that his experience didn't matter...

Her lesson isn’t that socialism works. The details of her politics were as incidental to the voters of the 14th as Obama’s policies were to his most dedicated base. It’s that racism works. Just ask a Democrat.

...
her victory is no argument for socialism. It is evidence that the left can win an election if the turnout is really low and a Hispanic district is being represented by a boring white Democrat who lives in Virginia. Since the 14th is a minority district, Cortez will probably be able to hold on to it until she’s older than Maxine Waters.

...
The unspeakable truth is that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez didn’t win because of her views but because the Democrats have created a political racial tribalism that is as bad as that of any third world country.

She will likely ride the wave of the media as long as exists. I'm sure some sexism will be thrown in for good measure as well.

And like the Waters district that I posted about earlier - I underlined the above... another Democrat district, another example of income inequality. You can't live there unless you are on welfare or earning a six digit income.
Of course the liberal/leftist media will not report about a "brownlash" or anything related to racial politics,,,,,,,UNLESS it is white people voting for another white person. Then it is based on racism, nothing else.
Heck even good old communist Van Jones and his ilk claimed that a "whitelash" caused Hillary to lose. This despite the fact Hillary was white.
These leftist malcontents come up with the most absurd kooky claims, but the media is happy to carry the water for the leftist, since they themselves are leftist kooks in many instances.

This is exactly why she won. She went all out with ads and grassroots supporters going door to door. Crowley even sent a surrogate to a debate with her because he thought he was a sure win and didn't need to debate her. It had nothing to do with socialism. If you want votes then you work your ass off and not take anything for granted.

I would say that sadly, most Hispanics vote based on race, just like most blacks vote for Democrats because of race. And when there is a Hispanic Democrat candidate, racial solidarity becomes the primary motivation. This is different than white Trump voters, and I'm saying this as an Asian American who voted for Trump and all of my close friends and family members are Trump supporters. (nearly every non black person in my Southern community supports Trump)

And like the Waters district that I posted about earlier - I underlined the above... another Democrat district, another example of income inequality. You can't live there unless you are on welfare or earning a six digit income.

Lets add some facts into the equation here...

1. The 14th district has been the same since 2012, there was no recent change of the lines.

2. Crowley ranks pretty high in NYC politics and is the Chairman of the Queens Democratic Party, if there was gerrymandering going on it would likely be in his favor, not work against him.

3. The last round of redistricting for Congress in the state of NY was done by the Courts after the Democratic controlled Assembly and Republican controlled State Senate couldn't agree on lines, there was no Gerrymandering on the Congressional level in NY following the 2010 Census.

4. As mentioned this is the same lines as it has been since 2012 and he wasn't placed into another district. Between 60-65% of his pre 2012 district is in the current district.

5. Crowley actually ran better in the Bronx portion of the district than he ran in the Queens portion of the district. In fact one of Ocasio-Cortez's strongest areas of the district was Astoria, which tends to be whiter and more middle class than the district as a whole.

I suspect this was gerrymandering by the Democrats to create a racially based Hispanic district, maybe because they feel there needs to be more Hispanics in Congress and they understand that most Hispanics, like most blacks, will almost automatically vote for someone of their same race.

So I voted for Dukakis, Clinton, Kerry, Mondale, Giffords, etc, because of RACE?

Explain that, because you’re not making a damn lick of sense.

Most Hispanics vote on race? How is that? How could that even be possible? For example, they overwhelmingly supported Obama. Is Obama their same race?

Hispanics vote for whites people in the overwhelming majority of elections. But that’s apparently not enough for you. They ALWAYS have to vote for the white person in your book. You shouldn’t be impugning them with your racist tripe. You don’t get a pass just because you’re Asian.
