So what? both are immoral systems that require violence for implementation. Notice I didnt say "to work" because neither do unless your definition of "work" is shortages, increased poverty, less freedom, starvation, death and an elite class subject to none of the above.
Bernie is a socialistic Democrat. His trade policies were not dissimilar to Trumps because protection of American Jobs was paramount. He’s an advocate for Medicare for everyone, which if they whip out the actuarial tables and charge an appropriate premium, would probably be affordable to all of us.
His slogan “ no American who works forty hours a week should be forced to live in poverty” resonates because our economy, while growing, is producing more low-paying service sector jobs.
He also says that if we are going to send soldiers off to bleed, there better be a damn good reason for it.
I am a socialist. Bernie is a social democrat who approves of the capitalist system only with state control to make it function better.
In essence he wants to help capitalism survive (which is the root of all state/private evil) which I believe is immoral.
I don't know Alexandria's positions very well but real socialists like myself have few options in our current political environment.
Socialism has many flavors but key to Socialism is TOTAL government control over the economy or parts of the economy... So anyone even Bernie advocating control over specific areas in the economy is a socialist.... I emphasize TOTAL because liberals like to point out things as socialist when really they are not..

I wanted Bernie, but I do wonder how in the hell he'd get any of his wishes granted by our government.
It would be a struggle, similar to Trump. The media would also hit him hard.

No, you are wrong. It's about making the means of production public and shared between the working class. One way is state control but Marx always considered that as a step, not the end.
Have the state control the distribution of wealth is the same as having the private industry control it. Either way, they both lead towards capitalism.
Real socialism in my mind is based on Anarchism.
