Thats a poor argument though, because productivity growth has never been uniform across sectors, not 50 years ago, not 100 years ago or 150 years ago. People still saw broad based rise in incomes. Today, there are plenty of rich developed countries that have not seen anywhere near the level of increase in inequality as America, even though they of course are part of the computer era.
You only get a raise if your productivity increases. Otherwise it's just inflation.
As to why productivity has stalled in many sectors, it's most likely because of a lack of education.
Agree the poor are doing a lot better under capitalism versus they would under socialism.

I agree with your first sentence, but if that's what the OP wanted to show it has nothing to do with the video. The video's point was that the poor are become richer at a faster rate than the rich. This is a LIE. Like I showed in my other comments it is propaganda with no source to it's main claim, using a reference of his own article, and arguments that have nothing to do with the subject (like people in the past was a lot poorer).
You are using the same flawed argument used in politics. The issue is not to choose the less of two evils. The issue is how to create a better system. We are social beings, [whether it is privately or in public], and so the economy needs to play a social role.
Of course not in the way in which was thought out by so called "socialists", those people were tyrants, not socialists. In fact, if you see how capitalists have evolved they themselves have become tyrants, full of corruption, creating monopolies and buying all sort of influence.
The economy is NOT growing. Financial bubbles are growing. This is what capitalism have become. Why take risks in doing business when they can get a bigger profit from the stock market? I can't wait for the next recession to hit, people will make excuses and the public will bail them out. Privatize the gains, socialize the loses.

they push socialism because if everybody poor, they will only vote for the welfare party, its all about power, they why draining the swamp has had some much fight.
I assume you are social with your friends and family, I mean socialist in that sense. Not in taking the means of productions from the private and giving it to the public sector. This is what you mean by tyrant, and I agree.
People's main error is that they think capitalism runs on greed and competition. This is an illusion. In deed, it is these two that are destroying the economy right now. Crony capitalism is destroying innovation and cooperation, the real drivers of the economy.
This error of seeking profits have lead to huge speculation and rent seeking. If we eliminate this we could all benefit from a healthy economy. The purpose of the economy is to create, distribute and consume goods and services. It is a socialist process in itself.
Capital has made the process more efficient, but when a few oligarchs succeed in taking hostage capital for their own personal benefits they undermine the whole system.
Just b/c you can't follow more than one topic at a time doesn't mean no one else can. The Left is the only party pushing for increased wages for everyone from min wage earners to salaried middle-management. The left is the only party trying to give a voice to the working class. The Left is the only party trying to change policies that are long term ploys to get the non-wealthy to pay more in taxes.
