You make light of it, but this was a serious blunder.

Kim is not legitimate, his family co-opted the political organization in that country and ruthlessly and brutally murder opposition. I shouldn't have to even mention this, everyone should already know.

The Kim family has never had international recognition, they are a bandit regime. People who love freedom in that country always knew this. Now their hope is fading. The propaganda machinery in NK will make it seem as if Trump came begging, bowing and scraping out of fear of their awesome power and Kim slapped him down. It will play very well in Pyongyang.

Just wait a few weeks... You think he got duped by Kim - who is relatively young and inexperienced... Trump is going to get pantsed by Putin, Just so much more work the next president will have to do to set things right again.

Right - and watch the Trumpies attack our next decent POTUS for not solving the entire problems in a couple weeks...or years!

I still think we will survive -but we are taking a lot of steps backwards which will take many years to make up...and then, hopefully, go forward. Needless suffering.

No surprises to anybody I'm sure.
Exactly!

That show cost us millions -- and for what.
Trump's ego!

The situation isn’t critical at all. NK is no threat to this country.

Trump has no relationship with Kim. None.

Silly argument!
First of all, you don’t even know if Kim represents all the power in NK. If he gives up those nukes, there may be very powerful people who can oust him in a coup. He’s not the only person on NK that likes their present system of government.

He’s only been able to hold onto power because he has so many others who believe in their system.

Again, the United States has no North Korean experts. Not one. We know nothing about that country. We have little to no decent intel on North Korea. All we have are a bunch of fools that claim to know what’s going on.

This is like during Vietnam when we assumed that Ho Chi Minh and General Giap were running everything. The real power was Le Duan, and the United States didn’t have the faintest notion that he was the man. Our intel experts didn’t have a clue about the guy.

We are blind in Asia. Get real. All this talk about developing hotels on beaches and putting Burger Kings in Pyongyang is the babbling of fools and children. Nukes keeps the United States from invading them. Nukes got a NK at the table with a United States President. Only a fool would give that up.

P
There are many other countries that have generally the same type of dictatorial leadership. Dozens or more. We seem to be friends with a few. There seems to be an unsettled situation or power struggle going on. Dear Leader Kim might be the best option for leadership and stability at this time. Instability and internal power conflict would be much more dangerous (remember Saddam and Gaddafi?) I suspect there are folks in NK who would like to see him gone. When that happens all bets are off. The overtures that NK has made during and since the Olympics is very much out of character so something is going on and we should be very careful.

You’re not fooling anyone: you are a fan of Trump’s.

Trump stated he “would know” if Kim was sincere.

I guess Trump’s “gut” is out of order.

Obama didn't pass it on anymore than Trump will pass it on.

The senseless trash talk from The Left continues.
We have heard from people who do not need to watch news because they have read books written by North Koreans (that's pretty funny), people who know what Kim's IQ is and are ready to compare it with Trump's (never actually talked to Kim, but still ... they know), and people who give great weight to Kim having his picture taken with Trump, but, they, themselves proclaim that they would be insulted if they were in the same photograph as POTUS.

It has been declared that US has gone backward, somehow, and it will be up to the next POTUS to fix it. When Obama wanted to meet with Iran they thought it was wonderful. Obama did in fact meet with Cubans and they celebrated, but something (TDS?) prevents them from seeing anything positive about Trump meeting Kim in Singapore.

Secretary Pompeo went to North Korea and delivered a message. The North Koreans did not like what they heard, and as far as I know that's a good thing. So the North Koreans are doing the only thing they can do - they are threatening to keep their nuclear weapons. Who knows; perhaps they will turn down everything and remain as they are.
Trump is tough and he will get a good deal for America or none at all. The Left was never going to be satisfied no matter what the news is out of North Korea. They screamed with glee when North Korea threatened to back out of the meeting, snickered when the two leaders had their picture taken, and are now forecasting doom because North Korea is putting up resistance.
The Left continues to make themselves irrelevant because they have no consistent position.
