True Capitalism does put downward pressure on prices but true capitalism is hardly even practiced even in the US at this point. Corporate fascism is what we have now. This is a totally different topic than monetary policy though.

Current programs go away or benefits reduced when certain income levels are met. This disincentives work more than basis income which also disincentives work but to a lesser degree.

Do you believe for one moment that basic income would not further increase deficits?

A basic income is an excellent idea. It’s keeps the poor people poor on fixed incomes while the rich continue to get richer.

We tried basic income before, it was called socialism.

Yes we heard for many years that communism was a flawed system that couldn't possibly work while at the same time being told that communist Russia was a great world superpower that was a huge military threat to the entire world. They never could get their story straight.

And now that Russia is no longer a communist country somehow it is still our enemy and our biggest threat.

Communism and socialism are not flawed. They are evil and morally reprehensible.

We don’t call a system with the intention to enslave people and to slaughter as many people as necessary “flawed.” None of the socialist or communist policies can be implemented without slaughtering a large percentage of the population.

They work in theory but are disastrous in practice. This is because corruption and greed is always part of human nature. Capitalism and the invisible hand of the free market will punish corruption, non-productivity and even greed, unless of course the government gets in the way. Then it turns into "crony capitalism" ie; "I'm too big to fail/jail!"
