Op, closest thing to an open border is dems ideology. That of sanctuary city, offer entitlements to illegals and god forbid, you are not allowed to even ask if they are here illegally.

So "open borders" is pure propaganda,

Sanctuaries and entitlements are NOT open borders by any measure.

Even the illegals don't want open borders, they worry about being undercut by more desperate people further south.

The border wall would make the Border Patrol more effective and reduce man-hours apprehending illegals. So if anything it would reduce the expansion of man power.

Catch and release + sanctuary cities + amnesty + anchor babies + family unification = open borders. In practice if not in official name. And yes the left, along with many on the establishment right, want it that way.

This thread is the propaganda and the OP knows it, they are just trying to spread that lie a little further.

IMO:
we definitely do NOT have open borders now
And
NO Politicians are calling for an "open" border.

That's just a fact...

We do have a serious problem with illegal labor and anything short of an Israeli style wall wont dent the problem and even that won't stop illegal labor,

A border wall is propaganda unless you man it with snipers and 24/7 guards

Otherwise make it a felony to hire an illegal and all the problems are solved overnight without a silly wall.

"build a wall.... build a wall"

Propaganda
Not when the illegals live in sanctuary state like Cali. Look up Cali's new law in 2018 (AB 450, SB 54)

That's why they don't have illegal labor problems in Canada Australia New Zealand Europe japan china and the Nordic countries... they have strong labor regulations thus few illegal laborers

Anyone that says liberal politicians want open borders is fake news, liberals want strong labor laws and labor unions.... that destroys illegal labor
Uh, unless you're a US citizen, you can't vote in elections. So it's kind of stupid fearmongering to say "they're going after the illegal vote."

I don't believe the left is for open border. Just google some of the comments from the left (i.e. Bill Clinton) about illegal immigration in the late 90s.

Since 2016's election, everything the left does is anti-Trump. If Trump says that the sky is blue, the left will say that sky is purple.

Another example is US troops deploying to the border... US troops have been sent to the border in two separate occasions in the last 10 years, but the left is up in arm this time because it's...Trump
