I think that is an impressive talking point for conservatives. It's about the person, not the place.

In fact not only did he not say that a President is above the law, he said the exact opposite:

One might raise at least two important critiques of these
ideas. The first is that no one is above the law in our system of
government. I strongly agree with that principle.

A second possible concern is that the country needs a check
against a bad-behaving or law-breaking President. But the
Constitution already provides that check. If the President does
something dastardly, the impeachment process is available.

No single prosecutor, judge, or jury should be able to accom-
plish what the Constitution assigns to the Congress.
Moreover an impeached and removed President is still subject to
criminal prosecution afterwards.
That's fair enough.
So he's saying if you want the President to face charges, then impeach him first and then he'll be subject to the full brunt of the law.

It wouldn’t surprise me if Kavanaugh sides with liberals many times over the years. This pick far from excites the base, yet looks like it could be a layup to get through the senate (unless Rand Paul opposes). I just don’t see how the liberals can generate enough fake outrage over such a boring nomination to successfully block him.
This guy looks like a good replacement for Kennedy. I'm fine with it. I hope they don't fight it too much because I fear the next pick after would be more of a Trump pick.

Great choice. My President is doing exactly what I hired him to do

Yes, he is a younger version of Kennedy, and might end up leaning more on the liberal side when it comes to voting on issues.

The next twenty years will be difficult on those that feel they are "owed" something. Assuming Kavanaugh is confirmed, there will be no quarter for mamby pamby "you owe me" and yelling and screaming. They might not agree but in the future the rewards will go to the brave.

Get Ready.
That was a very complicated case. And the baker won on the slimmest of margins. Read the decisions, it was certainly not as clear cut as you're making it. And not all business owners will be able to use the same argument.

I agree. I'm not alarmed by this pick in the least, especially considering some of the other candidates mentioned in this go round.

I'm so sorry if that lack of alarm disappoints our cultist friends here....

That's possible but not very likely. He's conservative no matter how you look at it. He's not a middle of the road moderate and has very rarely leaned left on anthing. There's a lot more to this world than Roe v. Wade and Obamacare.

I have to agree with this thought. His leanings seem to tend toward the Constitution rather than personal, ideological, or issues based. If so, I can live with it because the Constitution should be first order of business

He comes across as a moderate to me. Maybe I'm wrong. Time will tell. Dems do not seem to have much ammo against him, and maybe they shouldn't even bother, because they aren't going to get a more moderate nominee.
