85 out of 111 of the big tax increases to take more money away from voters pocketbooks to be spent by rich politicians and organized labor cartels.

Looks like many California cities, school districts and countries just can't wait until November to pass more tax increases, so they decided to have lots of summer elections for tax increases because they know voter turnout will be rock bottom

Here are some of the big tax increases that passed and will be wasted by California liberal politicians4

-4% increase in hotel tax in San Benito

-12% of gross revenues water, gas, electric bills in Long Beach for the city because of the massive pension liabilities and excessive workers wages.

-3 percent plus gross reciept tax in San Francisco much of which for government child care

-$70 dollars for $100,000 taxable value tax increase in parts of high-priced San Mateo.

but but but they have the 5th largest economy in the universe. Apparently it needs to be taxed heavily.

And the state with the highest poverty rate

“Guess which state has the highest poverty rate in the country? Not Mississippi, New Mexico, or West Virginia, but California, where nearly one out of five residents is poor”

Why is liberal California the poverty capital of America?

Yes, all the big states have big taxes except for Florida. Florida though really has gone out of it's way like the others to recruit lots of illegals who in many cases have a baby each year like California, New York or Texas.

Odd, how states with tiny populations and tiny economies but are very wealthy on a per-capita basis like Wyoming, Alaska, North Dakota don't require socialist tax schemes and offer high-quality services that Californians can only dream of.

California wants to have socialist level taxes with third-world Brazil, Venezuela or Mexico quality services.

New York has extremely high taxes because millions are multi-generational welfare shoppers who decided no place offers as lavish benefits as New York.

Texas has no state income tax, but extremely extremely property taxes in cities like El Paso and Houston that have lots of illegal aliens who have lots of anchor babies

At least, in Texas since a majority of taxes come in the way of property tax for individuals and families there are areas that property taxes are low in areas that aren't full of welfare queens and anchor babies.

Florida is the one big state that has rock-bottom taxes then again they have rock-bottom birth rates. Even areas like Miami and Hialeah that have large immigrant populations have extremely low birth rates.

Not only that in states like West Virginia, New Mexico and Mississippi many people don't have mortgages and the property taxes are very low.

There is a huge difference between a married couple on social security and medicare with their home paid off in West Virginia with a huge yard and only needing a gallon of gas a week for shopping as opposed to illegal aliens with many, many anchor babies living multiple families per house in LA or Santa Ana.

https://www.ocweekly.com/report-sant...ation-7044588/

The poverty in California mainly comes in the form of disease spreading overcrowding with third-world outbreaks coming out of the blue and infecting hundreds from the mega-overcrowding.

The poverty in West Virginia is more senior-citizens who struggle the last week or two because of the low social security checks the get from all those years of fake low inflation numbers during the Obama administration.

At least Texas doesn’t rely on an income tax when many residents are working under the table. It’s why I’m not that upset by in-state tuition for illegals. Here they pay for it like the rest of us.

Another thing Texas does right is the public sector unions don’t have collective bargaining rights, and the state legislature only meets for 140-day sessions every other year unless called to a special session by the governor (the only one who can). That and the veto that can be overridden with enough votes are about the only powers the governor has. It’s not perfect, but it makes it difficult to raise taxes on everything.

Poverty rates by state,

California 16.4%

Texas 17.2%
Tennessee 18.2%
Arizona 18.2%
Georgia 18.4%
Arkansas 18.7%
Kentucky 19.0%
Alabama 19.2%
Louisiana 19.9%
New Mexico 20.6%
Mississippi 21.9%

And one could argue when poverty rates are geographically adjusted for cost of living, ex.ex. California then has the nations highest poverty rate. But in standard of living rankings involving education, jobs, income, safety, health, environment, civic engagement, and accessibility of services and housing (California outperforms republican states.)

Standard of Living By State
