We should wait until Germany and the rest of Europe is dependent on Russia and then speak up?
No. Europe is being foolish if they believe that Russia is anyone's friend.

Sigh.

Trump looks out for Trump. There is nothing else on the list of things he looks out for.

They should not be able to make their own deals?

BRUSSELS -- President Donald Trump claimed a pipeline project has made Germany "totally controlled" by and "captive to Russia" during a combative breakfast Wednesday that kicked off what was already expected to be a fraught NATO summit.

Mr. Trump, in a testy exchange with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, took issue with the U.S. protecting Germany when the European nation is making deals with Russia.

The president appeared to be referring to the Nord Stream 2 pipeline that would bring gas from Russia to Germany's northeastern Baltic coast, bypassing Eastern European nations like Poland and Ukraine and doubling the amount of gas Russia can send directly to Germany. The vast undersea pipeline is opposed by the U.S. and some other EU members, who warn it could give Moscow greater leverage over Western Europe.

Mr. Trump, in a message to Germany, asked why the U.S. should "protect you against Russia" when the two countries are making deals. "You tell me, is that appropriate?" he asked, adding that: "Germany is totally controlled by Russia."

They truly think Trump is a mental midget, until Trumps common sense remarks is all it takes to shut them up and put them in their place.

You BS your friends and I'll BS my friends, but let's not BS each other...... Because, as you just learned, I am the master at that game, Trump said. LOL!!!!!!

Of course they should make their own deals. But if our military is there for protection, it should come with strings attached. That's part of deal making.

Obama was against this Germany-Russia deal as well, but he didn't have the balls to do anything about it.

He just pointed out, Putin has more control over Germany, than NATO does. and we basically fund NATO.

OP, you have to understand that everything that happens to Donald Trump is his own doing. If he gave us no ammunition, we would have very little to say. But he can not control himself, has no discipline, and deserves every comment that is made about him.

With allies like that, who needs enemies?

If "Germany is totally controlled by Russia" because of oil imports then the US is totally controlled by Canada.
