Cultist for Trumpism ( and willing to bet most posters are Russian trolls promoting FALSE narratives) continue to suggest that NATO is some sort of wimpy group ofCountries that never stepped up to the plate to support USA ( America)!! Yet, the one and only time "Article 5" has EVER been invoked was after 9-11 occurred..
BUT Trumpets NOW believe American Ally's are useless... I tend to believe that since Trump took office has alienated ALLIES within the NATO Alliance. WHY.. Have you repeated that the agreement was made 4 years ago and that more than half have still made no plans to get there? Its nearly at the half way point.
Now again I am not really a Trump supporter on the war hawk issues, but there the never Trump whining about insulting allies who do not meet their agreement is nauseating. If you fail to meet the agreement you need to have your ass chewed out.
We'll just have to wait until the deadline before claiming they did not live up to the agreement.

Oh I agree with their calculations , just not the implicit goal...The amount of money the US spends is on a global imperialist scale, not a adequate defensive scale.

The US is on track to spend 4% under Trump's recent bumps in defense spending. Furthermore, Trump almost certainly didn't pull that 4% number out of his a**. It likely came from Mattis and/or other strategists who study the threat environment facing the US, and deemed that is what's needed.

Well whoop dee freaking do. They are still not meeting the 2% defense budget minimum, and that's the bigger issue here as it affects readiness of NATO as a whole.
