"The communique is clear," Macron said. "It reaffirms a commitment to 2% in 2024. That is all."
So the dotard is once again without any clothes. He achieved absolutely nothing and insulted our allies. What an incompetent buffoon.

Trump is absoutely correct, and yes, he will have the last word.

These lazy, ungrateful european countries have taken our money and enjoyed our protection while using the fact that they spend very little on their militaries to keep their socialist ponzi schemes afloat.

And who suffers? The citizens over at Uncle Sugar's house, that is who.

In the end, Macron and all of the others will pay what Trump says they will pay, or Trump will go home and let Russia steamroll them.

And its about time.

US Forces in Europe actually save the US money according to the American Brookings Institute, whilst European countries have backed the US and laid down their soldiers lives in Afghanistan as part of the post 9/11 US led operation there. To attack these allies in the way Trump has is misguided and stupid.

Trump walked away from a crisis he created. He made an A$$ of himself lying about facts which were easy to check.

Then had the WH put out some nonsense about increasing to 4%.

Went into the last meeting made some stupid remarks and before he took off was being taken down because he lied.

Trump is not right about anything. His view is one formed from his lying, and child like behavior.

That’s about one of the most narrow views I’ve ever seen posted.

Did’ja eat too much borscht last night?

Why aren't they paying 2% as of today? These countries take advantage of us over and over. Thank god we have a president that is holding them accountable!!

Trump holding nothing. He lied the entire trip so far.

He makes stupid statements. Easy to check and then goes to something else and claims victory.

The agreement, for 2% by 2024, by Obama still stands.

Trump did nothing but make an A$$ of himself.

Apparently nato troops participation is inconsistently restricted by their countries. Some one has to stay in the rear with the gear.

'But analysts say NATO commanders are hindered in their fight against insurgents by so-called "caveats" '

"Some caveats might be our forces can't operate after night," said Michael Williams. "Our forces can't operate outside of this region or district. They can't be sent in combat operations. They can only fire when fired upon, etc. And so it can lead to some bizarre circumstances where if your rules of engagement are unless you are fired on you can't return fire - if let's say you are with the British and they are being fired at, but technically your soldiers aren't being, they can't actually assist the British forces."

So basically the euro contribution to resolve issues in their own backyard is to sacrifice more American lives than euro lives. Which countries are closer to Afghanistan or Iran or Iraq, the euro members or continental US? operation enduring freedom....US casualties - 2,412, Belgium -1, Germany-54,
Norway - 10.

We aren't paying more because of them.

The USA chooses to spend that much because they want to.

There is no NATO mission suffering because an Ally is not meeting the 2 per cent.

If the USA wants out of Europe -- get out and let the EU figure it out.

For Trump, you and other folks to claim USA is being taken advantage of when the USA has a choice in all of this -- is the martyr syndrome -- and it isn't attractive.

In terms of Caveats, the NATO role in Afghanistan is one of a UN ISAF Peacekeeping role, so caveats will apply, however it is up to each nation how they apply such caveats, whilst Rules of Engagement are not hard anf fixed, they can change according to deployment and situation. Normally soldiers receive a Rules iof Engagemtment card explaining the rules in relation to peacekeeping.

There is nothing to stop British forces from launching attacks on terrorist groups or firing upon them.

As for casualities, there have been over 900 European NATO casualties in Afghanistan, although nearly half (453) of these were British. However other nations have taken significant casualities in relation to their size, indeed the Danish who fought alongside the British in Helmand Province suffered significant casualties.
