Hmm, apparently it was OK for a 16 year old barely skilled (even for that day and age) German, and one sickly and unfit for military service besides, to come to the US illegally. How come it's not OK for able-bodied, able-minded Mexican, Central American, etc. in good health to enter illegally? What COULD be the difference between a German and a Mexican and/or Central American?
We are bursting at the seams with over 300 million in population and have a welfare state that skews toward benefiting immigrants and their USA-born over the native born population. That’s what is wrong. If they removed birthright citizenship and ALL welfare benefits for them, I might feel differently.

Exactly it's bad enough we have so many illegals and foreign visitors here but that were imparting birthright citizenship and so many rights, benefits, opportunities and services on them takes the cake.

Gee I don't know...what could be the differences between the world in 2018 and 1850? Surely there are no Americans out of work or living on the streets, and a Central American man can come to Los Angeles where rent for a one-bedroom is $1800/month and sustain a family of five, including health care, schooling, etc., by blowing leaves in office parks and selling flowers at intersections.
