It’s a great question. They hacked the servers of the Democrats (not Republicans) and aired the Democrats’ dirty laundry. They then made up stories (with the help of awful media) that targeted specific individuals (e.g. if a FB user were a NRA member their “story” would be HRC wants to take away all guns from everybody!).
Without this manufactured hatred of the Democrats, Trump would not have won.
