A stupid idea, but just a perfect example of the anti-Trump backlash.

The far right elects a bigoted crook who hates everyone and who's clear goal is MAWA (Make America White Again), with his worst supporters loudly championing that concept... the equally stupid backlash against him, "let's give illegals the right to vote (against Trump.)"

Both sides are wrong, of course, but this is what happens when the level of discourse is lowered and rules are allowed to be so casually broken - soon enough, the other side says, "To heck with it" and proceeds to play the same stupid, low-brow game.

Disappointing all around.

"In November 2016, San Francisco voters approved Proposition N, authorizing noncitizen voting in school board elections."

If the local voters approved it and gave permission, then what's the problem? Local towns and communities should be able to vote anything they want as long as its not unconstitutional. I don't know why right wingers have clenched bowels over this. If you don't like it, sue the school district and get it thrown out in federal court on constitutional grounds.

It's school board elections not representation at the state level or federal level.

Not right in my books but not the big bad sky falling issue.

California residents have to speak up and vote for what they want in their state.

For the first time in California history noncitizens, including undocumented immigrants, can now register to vote in upcoming school board elections in San Francisco.

ICE should subpoena the voter registration list.

Plenty of non-citizen legal residents in San Francisco. Plenty of very qualified, high-earning non-citizen legal residents.

It's setting a precedent and laying the groundwork for expanding it into other areas. It's an attempt to bring acceptance to the idea that illegals should have a vote on anything. If it's right for illegals to vote in school elections because their kids go to school, then next up is it's right for illegals to vote in city council elections because they live in that city.

My guess is that it's illegal - simply on the fact that those who are not documented shouldn't be here. The ultimate problem is no one is taking them to court about it, and if they did, the activist judges would have no problem cheating the system.

Maybe SF should worry about cleaning up all that feces first.

Pretty much it's become sh*thole.

Calif has two RussianAmericans. Issa and Rohrbacher. They know who the real illegal voters are in California.

Right wingers only believe in the election process if they win.
