AP is running a report on the Alabama primary today with this headline,

Onetime Trump critic Roby wins GOP House runoff in Alabama

So you'd think Trump's star is waning and this is one more example that politicians are running away from him. You have to read to the middle of the piece to catch a glimpse of this line.

The Trump White House was on Roby's side.

There's more....

"It's been a true privilege to have the support of the White House through this campaign," Roby told cheering supporters, her voice cracking with emotion at times.

You are really reaching. "Onetime" means "former," not "current."

Was I still wondering about fake news? No, because I never did.

Funny, I have reported "fake news" to Facebook recently and it just goes ignored and I get told to block the poster. They don't actually care.

She handily held off Mr. Bright, The Associated Press reported, after overcoming suspicion about her loyalty to the president with help from an unlikely ally — Mr. Trump himself.

NY Times

So what is the problem?

Yea, you are reaching HappyRider. "Onetime" it says.... As in ,"Used to be" a Trump critic. If anything, it is saying that he has come to Trump's side now, not that he won from being a Trump critic. Reading comprehension, it matters.

Plus, anyone living in Alabama, such as myself, would know that being a "Trump critic" is seen as a negative by the mouth breathers who inhabit this state.

The media is well aware that most people will just glimpse headlines or images. They use these to strongly promote the Democratic party and make Trump look bad. Then, they try to cover themselves by putting the actual facts deep in the story so if you call them on it, they can say they were honest. It's misleading, deceptive, ingenous, and dishonest, as we've come to expect from the media.

Jumping on this is just preposterous. The Republican-controlled House, Senate, and even trump's own administration are packed with "onetime" critics of his. SMDH.
