So steering away from a potential war with the other nation of the planet that could destroy all life on the planet is treason?...wow TDS must completely destroy all logic.

Ultimately Trump is right that we're better off if we can steer Russia into being at least a non-enemy if not a friend and ally.
Never should happen.

Polar opposites.

Nothing but trouble.

And this is why the left is being shunned in America.

We have made enough enemies in the world. Time to work towards peace for a change.

Lefties, why won't you give peace a chance? Haven't you all seen enough conflict for one life time?
There is no peace with Putin. None. He isn't remotely interested in that.

The entire world knows it.

Some in the US though have fallen for the Putin/KGB/Trump propaganda.

Do some reading re Russian intelligence motives and actions.

So what do you propose doing? Trump already continued with Obama's legacy of placing sanctions on Russia. Are you looking for boots on the ground?

In my opinions, living well is the best revenge, and the USA is a great place to do that. Russia, not so much. Winning!

There's not going to be a ground war with Russia.

Putin knows he'd get steamrolled. Like all dictators, he's gonna thump his chest at the US because it helps him stay in power. There will be proxy wars (Syria), and covert stuff (like hacking).

Russia is insignificant to the US. They're GDP is a 13th of the US. Our trade with them is $33 billion a year, total both ways. A blip on the radar.

The country is in the toilet after years of failed leadership by Putin with him and his friends raiding its coffers.

Sure. Soon as he holds fair elections and stops murdering/jailing his rivals.

Best thing to do?

Take their hacking serious and return it ten fold.

Don't meet with them. Ignore them. They mean nothing to us trade wise. They interfere on the global scene with the US whenever they get the chance.

Putin dreams of unifying the USSR. They were a much bigger threat to the US, and they lost. Modern Russia is a shell. Treat it as such.

There is nothing Trump can do. Putin owns Trump totally. And Trump knows it.

Putin has worked for and with the KGB for more than 40 years and they (and he) are experts (among the best) in intelligence. They (and Putin) know every skeleton in Trump's closet and, in fact, could destroy Trump tomorrow if they wished. And Trump knows that as well.

When I looked at pictures of Trump this week I saw a very scared and frightened person. Look at their meeting earlier this week. Putin led, Trump followed like a beaten dog.

Really, the best thing Trump could do is resign. Before he is destroyed. Dealing with Putin is a no-win situation for him.

And the way to do that is to heap praise on a brutal, murderous dictator while throwing the intelligence community of his own administration under the bus?

So should we do the same thing to every other country that hacks the US, or just Russia?

Well when our own president and current party in power shamelessly look the other way ... in order to fully and to continue to reap the benefits of the crime....we need to take away the supply:Putin, and punish those who received the ill gotten gains: Trump and current administration right down to Sarah Sanders.

Throw them all out with only the clothes on their backs.

No one better try this again.
