So if you are armed, you give up your right to speak? The guy did not go for his gun until he was shoved to the ground.

He had forward momentum when he shoved the guy the first time, maybe he was stepping back to get forward momentum again to kick the guy? Who knows. We don't have audio to know what was being said. A guy could be taking a step back saying he was going to put you in the hospital or asking if you want some more.

We also don't know from the old guy's perspective if he could even tell if the big guy was stepping back. His head may have been ringing from hitting the ground. Monday morning quarterbacking on video is quite a bit different and much easier than real-time decision making. If you really want to fight and harm.....you start by throwing blows to the head.

Also, something no one has mentioned is that the old guy never turned to face the big guy coming towards him so it's probable the big guy never gave any warning at all. The old guy was talking to the woman when suddenly he felt a hard impact and was thrown to the ground.

Why a shove and not a PUNCH? To me, as his girlfriend was getting out of the car, she was face to face with the 47 year old. Her boyfriend then pushes (not punch) the guy away from his girlfriend. If he really wanted to do damage....he would have hit the guy strait in the face with a series of blows. It probably would have knocked the guy out.

As I have stated before, people who SHOVE are not really looking to fight. Its a precursor to a fight, depending on your foes response. That is non verbal communication. Every guy should know this from growing up. If you really want to fight and do harm....you start by throwing blows to the head....not shoving.

Interesting that despite fearing for his life shooter was an expert marksman. One shot to victim's heart.

Saw an interview with store owner. He has had problems with shooter; had to call police because of a previous incident.

He might have had training in how to handle and shoot firearms but no legit weapons expert taught him to be some kind vigilante parking enforcer. He learned that on his own.

Too many people who just whip it out w/out thinking.
The guy who shoved him away (the boyfriend) had a previous arrest for aggravated assault.

But apparently he never asked the shooter not to come back? Interesting.

Wrong answer. The correct answer is zero. Zero firearms instructors teach their students to become involved in situations that could potentially escalate into the use of deadly force.

When the instigator is standing right over you and about to pummel you, it’s easy to get off a shot.

Interesting that the now-dead-guy instantly resorted to violence in front of his own 3 kids.
