Whenever a steel mill operates in an area, there an increase in metal recycling, with old cars and scrap metal. This is a way for those without jobs to make money, I have seen unemployed have successful start up business just on scrap. Help clean up the neighborhood. Also have an effect on use car sales.

Of course, the OP's link is from March, when the reopening was addressed on this forum.

Found the thread:

I suppose the reason for this new thread about old news is that President Trump is going to visit Granite City:

When did steel become obsolete? I wasn't aware.

Way to go, Donnie! Make America 1931 Again!

President Trump has ordered Energy Secretary Rick Perry to take "immediate steps" to prevent the further closures of coal and nuclear power plants around the U.S., the White House said Friday.
White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said in a statement that the president had ordered the Department of Energy to take the measures due to a national security interest in securing the national power grid's resilience.

Why the sudden opposition to taxes from the left? They NEVER complained when some of the highest business taxes in the world were in place on US companies-in fact they threw tantrums when they were lowered to be competitive with the rest of the world. Yet when taxes are placed on imports from other nations...they also throw a tantrum.

It's almost like the left only wants to punish Americans and treat everyone else in the world better than their fellow citizens.

I miss typewriters.

Needed some White Out the other day.

After several hours of searching, finally found it.

The bottle had long since dried up.

Sad.
