Good news on the tariff front, btw. The newly renegotiated NAFTA should be ready within a couple months now that the US and Mexico are close to a deal. If Canada doesn't want to renegotiate, the US & Mexico will sign a bilateral trade deal and end NAFTA, leaving Canada on their own. Canada, who's already been abandoned by the EU & Mexico, is in an economic free fall & can't last more than a couple more months. They're running out of time and have no leverage. Expect the tariffs to be lifted and a new NAFTA by the midterms.

Got any links to back your theories.

Trump couldn't give a rat's azz about anybody suffering. All he wants is the narcissistic supply he gets from his supporters. BTW, he should be about ripe for another pep rally soon. Wonder where he will go this time?

Do you support taxpayer handouts and bailouts to other groups that voted for trade wars as well? Is it only farmers or do you support economy wide handouts and bailouts?

Look, a "new NAFTA" is not going to get your coal job back. Or your processing industry job back. NAFTA is negotiated by Wall Street, not Joe Sixpack or labor unions. And Wall Street has no interest in the working class of America. They've been at war with the working class of America for 40 years now.

These trade wars are absurd. Unemployment is at 3.8% and Trump supporters are openly bragging about it (its no longer 40% like under Obama). Yet, we have these same people painting a picture of job devastation across the nation so trade wars are needed.

Canada and Mexico have a free trade deal with each other within the new TPP. As well, both Canada and Mexico have free trade deals with the EU.

Mexico Wants August Nafta Deal as Trump Vows ‘Dramatic’ Action

Mexico is redoubling its efforts to reach a Nafta agreement with the U.S. and Canada by the end of August, according to three people familiar with the negotiations, as President Donald Trump said he’s heading toward a “dramatic” deal with Mexico.

Trump on Monday said that he’s in discussions with incoming Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador about doing something “very dramatic, very positive for both countries,” without giving more details. Mexico’s peso extended gains after Trump’s remarks, rising 0.7 percent to 18.8951 per dollar at 4:48 p.m. in New York.

Exactly. Canada and Mexico have probably benefited from Trump pulling the U.S. out of the TPP and all these countries are learning to do without the U.S. I would not be surprised if Trump starts trying to negotiate somewhere because he knows he's completely overplayed his hand. Even with the TPP Trump realized toward the end it may have been a huge mistake but it was too late. Trump is a very stupid man.

Mexico trade adviser sees NAFTA deal in next few months

Seade said Mexico was paying close attention to Trump.

“President Trump has a very personal style. He likes to appear chaotic. But the last thing he is is chaotic,” he said. “I think he’s a very intelligent man.”

Oh, someone using the old trick about flattering Trump. It will work well, I am telling you that.

Remember Mexico's new President AMLO is a Marxist/Nationalist who says corporations have too much power in Mexico. He's actually quite a bit like Trump in many ways. I can see why they hit it off so well.

Yeah, Trump loves those Mexicans. Oh wait, he said they're a bunch of rapists.

Admit it. Trump knows he overplayed his hand and instead, our trading partners are issues tariffs directly on Trump supporting states. I see no country begging to trade with the U.S. and instead, we're giving farmers $12 Billion in welfare.
