No.... and we already dealt with that. using the term Illegal Alien is no attempt to turn anything away from anyones 'humanity'. that is asinine. It is used because it is the legal reality.
Is it not also a legal reality that they are "undocumented"?
Why such a strong preference for one over the other?
Illegal aliens are not residents. They will be removed when caught.
Of course they are residents. The majority have been in the country for over a decade. One who lives in a place over a decade is clearly a resident of that place.
They are illegal aliens. They are undocumented workers.
And we need to come to our senses and make most of them legal aliens. They are not going away and legalization is the only likely way to gain control of our immigration system.

I see, so if we just forgive all criminal acts our crime stats go down. That's an interesting way to "solve" a problem.
I never stopped referring to illegal aliens as what they are: illegal aliens. The moment they cross the border without due process, they are illegal. And the term alien is common technical parlance in describing non-citizens in this context.
"Undocumented immigrants" is a term that attempts to normalize and mollify the illegal presence of people who shouldn't be here.
"If we don't use ugly words, we won't have any ugliness" - The Fountainhead
I will update that: If we don't use accurate words, we won't have accuracy. And accuracy in describing and defining people who walk into our country without due process is the enemy. Leftists realize that we don't want to identify them accurately, or we won't be able to invent a plausible rationale for their presence.
So no, they are illegal aliens because that term accurately identifies and describes them.
The administration is getting this right.

They can pay rent and live at the same address for 10, 20, 30 years. The law still does not recognize them as residents and they will be deported when caught. This is the fact, the truth. you're playing with feelings and word games again. Sorry bub.
It is ridiculous but it is not the Right Wingers that are pushing to make everything PC and baby soft.
It is like how the schools and juvenile sports have been made PC so no ones feelings get hurt if they should get a poor grade or lose a game.
Even the idiots that jump on Police cars and burn and loot their neighborhoods out of a misguided protest were once called "Rioters" then "Protesters" and now "activists" that are given the space by Liberal mayor to act out and destroy while the Police are told to stand down.
Who came up with that brilliant plan? I call them idiots.
It is funny how the Dems can call the President of the United States a fascist Nazi and all sorts of terrible names when he is trying to enforce existing laws BUT we can't call an illegal alien an illegal alien because it is offensive?
It it crazy that we can't call something what it is.
No one is making you say anything you don't want to. Yet your upset by what I or others choose to say. That's you being whiny and soft. Only difference is your whinyness is based on contempt and anger and the other is based on sympathy and kindness. Go on with your bad hard self and call 'em whatever you want. And you elected a similarly whiny, contemptuous president so on official documents, for the time being anyway, they'll be referred to in a way you like. Like I said, you all can shut up about it now. But you can't, can you?

They are not criminal unless the Feds chose to charge as such...which they will not do. They will not because a criminal charge gets the alien a lawyer and the right to a defense. The Feds will in fact proceed in Immigration Courts where that is not true. So the illegals get deported not convicted of a crime.
And it is the only way to solve this problem. There is no will or capability to enforce the immigration laws
against the long term illegals. So the choices are to legalize most or live with the situation as it is. in the long term we willl legalize most. The actual question is when.
The Department of Justice (DOJ) informed U.S. attorneys to use the term “illegal alien” when referring to an individual who entered the country illegally, according to CNN.
... “The word ‘undocumented’ is not based in U.S. code and should not be used to describe someone’s illegal presence in the country,” the email said, according to a CNN article published Tuesday.
Not sure why anyone should have a problem with this... but I know how it works around here.
The thesaurus used by Obama to solve and create problems has been thankfully retired.
