Yep, which is why Bush is the best recent example of a socialist.

They're upset he continues to misrepresent himself as a conservative instead of the lifelong leftist Democrat he always has been.

Flip side of that question. If Trump is a conservative, why are all the investigations into him being led by Republicans?

My guess is that Trump won't make it into the top 5 POTUS spots like FDR and his Relative Teddy.

In fact, I'd take a wage (if CD allows so) that Trump will make the bottom 5. That takes some real doing....I mean, most people here would do better than that. You have to be a real Loser with a capital L to make it to the dregs, since we've had some real poor POTUSes over the centuries.

But that is exactly what the right-wing thinks socialism is.

Because some criminals are too egregious to ignore, even for Republicans.

Socialism is a word thrown about by those who know-nothing about either politics, economic or the real world.

We can understand stuff like "loving Russia" or "Loving Putin", but that has little to do with Socialism and more to do with treason and lack of national interests.

All human societies...for THOUSANDS of years, have levied taxes and used them for stuff...like roads, infrastructure, armies, high-living for nobles, priests and much much more. Saying that we are tribal is really saying we are collectivists and socialists. Modern Societies have dropped much of the tribal and religious angles (those are optional and not officially government), but retain the idea of having a nation-state which is financed by all of us (or whomever lives there or trades there, etc.)...

Throwing the word around as an insult is sorta like saying we all have bowel movements and they all offend the senses. That type of socialism is the way we got to the present day (cured disease, did great things, etc.)....

Those who want to debate a particular point - such as whether Trump should give billions to soybean farmers....should stick to the subject at hand. Bottom line is that most all civilized countries spend a similar percentage of their GDP on "Socialism".....so debating it is somewhat silly.

What we can debate is whether we are getting our value for the money spent.

Trump isn't a socialist...

He's a Soviet-style central planner.
