Reminds me of the movie "Team America - World Police". Maybe the Arab NATO will pay more than the European one.

The White House wants to see deeper cooperation between the countries on missile defense, military training, counter-terrorism and other issues such as strengthening regional economic and diplomatic ties, four sources said.

The plan to forge what officials in the White House and Middle East have called an “Arab NATO” of Sunni Muslim allies will likely raise tensions between the United States and Shi’ite Iran, two countries increasingly at odds since President Donald Trump took office.

Becoming involved in the Middle East nearly always works out well, and what could possible go wrong in splitting countries in relation to religious factions.

Best of Luck with this.

Iraq couldn't beat Iran even with US help, but maybe it can be done with the help from US + Arab NATO.

It will take few years to set everything up, so maybe Barron is old enough to fight by the time they are ready to rumba.

Barron has foot spurs and an ingrown toe nail, so will sadly never be able to serve his country.

It's something Barron will just have to live with.

Well, I am sure he will be able to say "thoughts and prayers" when others die.

Obama and Hillary's Arab Spring was a dumpster fire so I'd be wary of trying anything over there. But Trump has a way of making things work, so maybe.

An Arab Nato? Why not. How many countries have tried to enforce their will on the Middle East and have failed?

England, France, Russia and they certainly don't want what we are selling so why not help them set up a way to Police themselves.

There are a few bad actors over there that support terrorism and they need to be watched and who better to do that than countries in the region?

Trump does have some good ideas but the Left is so quick to denounce and ridicule anything he comes out with that his ideas will never get a chance.

What you are doing is setting up a Sunni Muslimi coalition that would alienate Shia populations and Iran, thereby fanning the flames of sectarianism and division.

What are you selling, last time I looked the US had a trade surplus with the UK, the UK spent more than 2% on defence, and the vast majority of Gas consumed by the UK has nothing to do with Russia. The UK is the largest importer of US goods in Europe and the largest Investor in the US itself.

Most of the US bases in Britain relate to the close intelligence relationship and are as much to do with the Five Eyes Agreement as to with NATO, indeed we are not some US protectorate.

Five Eyes - Wikipedia

In terms of the Middle East, the UK allows the US to use Diego Garcia, which is part of the British Indian Ocean Territory, as well as British military and intelligence facilities on the island of Cyprus which include 3,500 British military personnel, RAF Akrotiri and the Ayios Nikolaos Intelligence Station used to listen in on the middle east by GCHQ and the NSA.

British Forces Cyprus - Wikipedia

Akrotiri and Dhekelia - Wikipedia

Diego Garcia - Wikipedia

Britain has retained good relations with Qatar since it's independence in 1971, which is one of the reasons they let NATO and other allies get to use Al Udeid Air Base. Whilst we also maintain close relations with countries such as Bahrain which is home to the recently refurbished HMS Jufair, United Arab Emirates which is home to the Al Minhad Air Base and Jordan, all of whom hosts British forces. Britain is also planning consolidating a new support facility in the Sultanate of Oman at the Duqm Port facility.

Joint UK-Qatari Typhoon squadron stands up as defence relationship deepens

HMS Jufair - Wikipedia

In terms of France, there has been no US Bases in France since 1966, when France withdrew it's forces from NATO command and closed all foreign bases. France rejoined NATO Central Command after four decades in 2009.

As for Russia, it has little to do with the US beyond interferene by it's intelligence agencies , indeed trade is hampered by sanctions and I don't think Russia is seeking any advice from the US regarding policing themselves.

The oil industry deserves this huge chunk of government subsidy.

It is not his idea, but he seems to be willing to move forward with it, while others thought it was not a very good idea.
