They received the promise of help with the campaign, and that is why they went there. "Intent" is where the law was broken, not what they received or whether they received anything.

Need I remind you that Steele was not hired until after clinton picked up that research. It wasn't the republican that had hired Steele, it was hillary and the dnc.
And you should be reminded that Steele was not hired to do a hit piece on Trump. Hillary and the DNC had nothing to do with hiring Steele, nor did they know he existed. Here again (for the two hundredth time) is Glenn Simpson's testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee about Fusion's role in the whole affair, with detailed information on how the Steele Dossier came to exist. How about actually read it this time so you don't continue embarrassing yourself by posting falsehoods...?

If Cohen rather taped instead of taking hand written notes that often are taken by a para Legal, then why wasn’t Cohen informing his clients.

By not doing so that made Cohen a snitch and rat!

Disgusting lawyer that should be disbarred!
New York law only requires that one party give consent for a phone conversation to be recorded. Cohen did nothing wrong, nor was he required to disclose anything about it.

Your Boy got caught out. Deal with it.

Oops. Should have paid attention when Mikey was yelling for you to help him, Donnie. Now you may have a problem of your own making...

No one cares!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If trump haters can discount Hillary destroying emails while under subpoena and exposing government data to foreign agents, then why should you care about a super rich entertainer having an tryst with a playboy model 10 years before he became president.

Hillary lost, get over it!

Here are the conclusions that I draw from this:

- If Cohen's claim cannot be corroborated by anybody else (or anything like a recording) then it won't matter. It has nothing to do with his credibility. I mean, compare it to Trump's credibility... But, this won't be the smoking gun from Watergate without something like a tape backing it up.

- Even if nothing really did come from the meeting, it is treason to work with a foreign power to win an election. "But, but, Hillary!" If someone wants to tie a string from Clinton to Russia and claim that is fact, you'd need a very short string to do the same for Trump.

- Cohen has motivation to make this claim whether it is true or false. He may get immunity. That's always a problem when it comes to admissions like this

- Trump does a lot of shady things. This is just another one. It wasn't that long ago when Trump Jr claimed Trump had nothing to do with the meeting and nothing to do with statement Trump Jr made about the meeting... until it was backtracked to "Trump weighed in on Trump Jr's statement" to finally "Trump dictated the statement." Why all the lies? Why all the obfuscation? All of this for a supposed meeting between Trump's campaign and Russia about... adoption? And people on the right buy that nonsense? This man puts toddlers in cages and you think for a second that Trump had his campaign meet with Russian officials about adoptions... during the midst of his campaign? What won't you believe...

Correction: Mr. Trump did not make the comments the day of the meeting in Trump Tower, but on June 7, 2016, during his victory speech after winning Republican primaries in several states:

"I am going to give a major speech on probably Monday of next week and we’re going to be discussing all of the things that have taken place with the Clintons. I think you’re going to find it very informative and very, very interesting."

I recall we had a thread that speculated about what information he would give. He ended up not saying anything, which is consistent with the assertion that the meeting was useless (unless the participants ended up discussing very different subject matters, such as hacking by the Russians).

I don't know anything about The Root. I read the article itself, and it was stupid and mendacious, and it didn't back up any of your claims.

A lot of people care. All patriotic Americans care. Even that part of your post was wrong. This isn't about his call girl, BTW. This is about proof of the collusion with Russia that he's been denying for two years. He's in deep poop.

No, it wasn't. And the fact that you can't point to any such law proves my point.

Trump, Fox and the Trumpists are the ones that can't get over Hillary and keep bringing her up.

You're obviously not over her if you attempted to change the subject of this thread to Hillary. It makes it appear like you don't want to talk about Cohen saying that Trump was informed about the meeting with Russians before the meeting took place. Why the attempt to change the subject?
