I have no issue with any legitimate health related item being covered by an HSA.
This includes feminine products as well as "pecker pills" and so forth.
Seriously, it's not like you can walk around with any sort of pad etc. without having an issue.
They're not optional and the gals can't just go to the "menstrual hut" like the did in centuries past.
Heck, they let me use my HSA for braces and lasik for family members so why not these?
And what happens to every product/service that gets subsidized by the government? All that's going to happen is that the price of tampons will increase to the point that the consumer pays the same amount as they pay now. That's how supply and demand works. But now the tampon companies will have additional tax-payer subsidized profits.

Bwahahaha. You actually think the demandfor tampons is going to increase due to adding them to Health Spending Accounts.

Yeah I think that’s unlikely. Most people really want to use HSA/FSA money for big-ticket items. If they have one where they have to spend by a certain date, then I can see stocking up with the extra cash that it is left, but if I have an FSA for uncovered dental, eye, and other expenses, I’ll probably want to save my money for that until it’s close to the end of the year and then maybe use the excess for feminine items.

Please explain how making this product tax exempt for people with FSA’s and such is subsidizing? Are you honestly saying that you want MORE taxes?
Agreed that they will raise prices. That’s called fair market capitalism. But does government really need an extra nickel every time some lady needs a rag? If so, why?
