Which seems like some kind of legal hair splitting when you get down to it. It may well be too, but that's why prostitution is considered illegal, while porn isn't.
Porn is considered free speech art/film. So whoever pays a porn actress doesn't really make a difference. It's protected under the first amendment. Plus porn producers must have a license and record of its actors

It ultimately comes down to the First Amendment. Pornography is protected under the First Amendment as artistic free expression. Prostitution, on the other hand, is defined by U.S. law as a sexual act given or received for monetary payment.

The irony is some regular people will engage in prostitution, then record it, and upload it, which is technically legal under artistic free speech expression.

In all reality, porn is legal and prostitution isn't because everyone watches porn yet some people associate prostitution with evil human sex trafficking that only making it illegal would help it to go away.

Yeah a misdemeanor, boy your life is over...

And 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo was caught with an escort (porn star kiara maria?) out to dinner and last I checked he wasn't arrested.

So sorry, you actually have to be caught in the actual act of giving money for a sex act by an undercover cop. Taking an escort to dinner or paying for their time itself is not illegal, hence the countless escort websites in existence.

Why do you believe that she was an escort?

OK, try explaining it to our wife. Beware da slippah'!

Hell, didn't Hawaii go through something a year or two ago saying that the POLICE can't have sex with hookers anymore? It's laughable.

Both the actor and the actress are paid in the industry of pornography which include live acts and movie videos.

The only difference is that the lovers are drop dead gorgeous.........

I think prostitution degrades society if it was made legal lot more married men would cheat on their wives and Divorce rates would go up. I know everyone says oh man could find some other woman to cheat on who isn't a prostitute, but lot easier to pay a prostitute because it's illegal might think more about his decision.

There is the 'loophole' to make basic prostitution legal then, just set it up like the porn industry, and they could never be arrested.

Why do you believe she was acting as an escort at that time?

What does my wife (fiancee) have to do with the legality of escorts?

The bunny ranch is a legal brothel in Las Vegas and I don't plan to go there.

I don't know what relevance this has, that's for undercover stings. It doesn't change the legality of paying someone for their time.
