Interesting perspective on how we are all taking life way too seriously

I agree with the OP. Stand-Up Comedy is not the same as the 90's and early 2000's.

The only thing to do is say, who gives a crap.

That was a pointless video. Of course, it's Prager U, so...

"Stephen Colbert is just Rachel Maddow with punchlines". You could say that, but it's in the nature of good comedy that it kicks up. Amazing that this needs to be explained.

It's funny when John Oliver roasts Bob Murray to a fine crisp and Bob Murray gets whiny about it. I'm not sure what balanced counterpoint this idiot thought there would be to that?

Or the joke that he complains about not getting chuckles: "Trump isn't Hitler, because Anderson Cooper wouldn't have survived the Night of the Long Knives." (Yes, that's paraphrased, not watching that bunkum again.) It's nonsensical, because the Night of the Long Knives was an event where Nazis murdered other Nazis. That joke doesn't work not because the audience lacks the knowledge to understand it, but because he's not as smart as he thinks he is.

Mainstream US conservatism is in full-on authoritarian mode right now, and that's just not a good foundation for humor.

Like I said in when I sent this video to my 2 email joke lists:

Quote:
This says it all. We ate all taking ourselves too seriously

I'm still sending my jokes. I'm too old to care.

If you want to read them, read them. If not, don't

If you want off of my list, just let me know.

My jokes are definitely NOT PC!

He's one of the best comedians out there today. He's also right (most of the time).

Yep, sure did. I can laugh at videos or books from 20 plus years ago. But I haven't seen a quote--"comedian"--since who causes anything besides an eye roll. Well actually, Rodney Carrington is kind of funny, but that is because he's so politically incorrect, disgusting, and sickeningly raunchy. I only laugh because I can imagine what libs are doing while watching him... especially feminists.
