Don't let this forum fool you, this place is a cesspool of lunatic right wing white nationalists who knuckle drag. This is not the American norm . This is storefront lite here.
I think you meant Stormfront. If you're going to bring stupid you should at least bring the right one.
Because CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS supported Hillary in 2015/2016 and trashed every other candidate who ran (even democrats, like Bernie Sanders). Now that Hillary lost in November 2016, all those outlets are all angry and bitter, and willing to trash Trump no matter what.
These media organizations are for-profit businesses that are on the air to make money. Having Trump as president constantly surrounded by controversy is likely good for their business, regardless of the political preference of their programming leadership. I haven't seen any evidence that Trump attacking opposing media sources over Twitter or at his rallies has hurt their bottom line.
We got here because the day after the Tet Offensive in 1968, the American media began their journey away from objective journalism towards nothing but being an arm of either national party committee.
In Jan 1993, all criticism of the newly elected President was branded "part of a vast right wing conspiracy," and that continued for 8 years unabated.
In Jan 2009, all criticism of the newly elected President was branded racist, and that continued for 8 years unabated.
In Jan 2017, all criticism of the newly elected President was branded "fake news," and look for that to continue unabated.
The media did this to themselves, and yes, if this trend ha a starting point, Walter Cronkite declaring he Vietnam War "unwinnable" the day after Tet would be this timeline's shooting of Archduke Ferdinand.
Right now, the only news sources most people believe are those that have a clear pro-Trump bias such as Fox News, Breitbart, InfoWars, etc. As soon as a news source becomes critical of Trump it's automatically disregarded as fake news. Does anybody find this a bit alarming? I mean, we are in a situation in this country where most people have chosen to blindly follow an authoritarian leader and refuse to believe anything negative they hear about him. While dictators of the past have enacted restrictions on the press in order to force positive coverage, Trump has been successful at convincing Americans to simply disregard any coverage of him that is negative or critical as fake. In essence, Fox News has filled the role of a state-run propaganda network pushing Trump's agenda, not too different from Soviet Central Television, and most people are just fine with that and don't even question it. In fact, most people are placing their anger towards "mainstream" sources because they are critical of their beloved leader. Why does this not bother more people?
The news media brought this manifestation down on themselves. They have been negative, and rabid Trump haters. The news medias credibility on anything to do with Trump, is looked upon in the same way as Iran's Mullahs reporting on Israel. You know they hate him, so you doubt everything that comes out of their mouths.
Add to this, the news media has been too quick to jump on and report flat out false news stories about Trump. So much so, that anything they say is automatically looked upon as a distortion of the fact, and a complete lack of proper context.
The media is soooo biased against Trump, when they reported the new US embassy in Israel, that called it "controversial," and prefaced their reporting with doom and gloom. By contrast, when 0bama opened a US embassy in Cuba, the news media heralded it as "historic," and "a diplomatic breakthrough."
The news media looks for any way to present Trump's actions and policies in as negative a light as possible. The reporting is always accompanied with negative commentary by the journalists, to make sure their readers come away with as dire and gloomy of a perception as possible.

If improving profits was their agenda, they are failing. Many people stopped watching the cable and broadcast news media. It's like tuning into Al Qaeda nightly news show, reporting on the infidels of the west. It's all negative, biased, tainted, and you know they only ever report the worst, even if they have to make it up.

Yes, myriad individuals and media sources find this alarming.
Editorial boards of large and successful metropolitan newspapers are on record as being alarmed and as having sounded the warning, pre election as well as currently.
Most main-stream media journalists covering the 2016 election were and are alarmed....some individuals having to be escorted to their vehicles by security after Trump rallies;and even the secret service in one cited example had to escort a female reporter after direct and menacing threats by attendees.
The publisher of the New York Times recently addressed the dangers of this rhetoric and this deliberate undermining of journalism as well as the thinly veiled threats made by the president, with Mr. Trump, himself.
The White House Press Corps discusses it regularly only to be met with resistance from the press secretary who then denies and or propagates the Fake News.
Our European allies are on record as having cited how far America has fallen due to this Fake News propaganda spouted by our self-serving, uninformed wanna-be dictator in chief.
Presidential historians and constitutional scholars are alarmed and talking about it.
Journalism schools are alarmed about it.
ALL AMERICANS should be alarmed.
No time to stay silent...speak truth to abuse of power whenever you can and for God's sake vote as if the democratic America you love depends on it, because it does!

News shows can live with being detested by part of the population if they get enough viewership from everyone else. No one is obligated to listen to media they disagree with, but it could open peoples' eyes sometimes, on either side. But it's easiest to just listen to the media that supports one's own point of view and consider the others to be #FakeNews - and one absolutely has the right to do so.
After 8 yrs of cheerleading for Obama over looking his corruption abuse of power the fake news media and the left has the audacity to be critical now? lmao...
Cheerleading for Obama i.e. not promoting debunked conspiracies concerning his birth certificate, religion, or the birth gender of Michelle?
