A free press is guaranteed by the First Amendment. It’s really the only way this President is even slightly being held in check.
The press is not free. They have to make a living. This president does not do anything to your standards; he may not even be aware of your standards. So he is not being held in check by the press's standards which may not even match your standards.

I never watch them. If I were President I would stop them. I wouldn’t allow any press into the White House. Instead, I would make a daily summary video and encourage anyone to write in questions for me to answer. I don’t think anyone should be giving press briefings except the President.
I would have to agree with you that when it comes to this administration, it should be the POTUS who does his own briefings. As he knows himself better than anyone else and changes his mind on a dime, it's important that he speaks for himself. Sanders tries but she's just another puppet who can't be trusted.
By calling out every damned lie. I'd start by asking him when did his private investigators return from Hawaii and what did they find that was so unbelievable.
They have missed so many opportunities to hold his bone spur feet to the fire. I'm not kidding about asking him about those private investigators. Why has no one done that publicly? They should also laugh out loud at Sanders and Trump every single time they lie.
