Not in the beginning, NASA was pulled from the top minds and talent in the USAF, as they got the top minds from the NAZI V2 program. Aerospace and development was top priority for my dad in the 60's and 70's and most of his stretch in the AF.

As I said, it has nothing to do with the military. And it was never intended to have anything to do with the military from the get-go. That they got some people from the Air Force means absolutely nothing when the mission of the agency has absolutely nothing to do with the military. And as I pointed out, even if, for some reason, it DID have something to do with the Air Force, the Air Force itself is not authorized by the constitution.
