Nobody I know hates straight white males. In fact, I collect them. Who told you this BS? Honest question. No snark intended.

Don't need to be TOLD it...the media in all its forms makes sure we see it every single day...from the dad's on certain tv shows,to commercials,to magazine articles, covers etc...Sometimes its blatant sometimes its subtle.
1. It's basically measuring how authoritarian people are.
2. It shows who likes centralized power vs. decentralized power.
3. Some of the responses go along with something I heard someone say recently... that the left often downplays or denies that government is forceful and authoritarian by its nature (ex: the government is the people, it's democracy, it's just organizing for everyone's benefit, etc.), and the right often understands it, but actually embraces it (ex: government is force, and we openly support it...obey our laws or face the consequences).
Absolute no from me. I'd go even further and say that I'd be strongly against putting myself on the throne. The best case scenario is that I'd do absolutely nothing, and even then people would have to pay for my housing or salary.
Now that I think about it, America has supported many dictators in the past. Or many folks who said they wanted democracy, lied, and turned into a dictator.
It always ends in complete disaster. The dictators use American support to completely oppress the civilians and political opposition, worse yet, some have actually turned against America.
Sadly enough, for various political reasons, we still support dozens of dictators today
Quote:
Over the last century, the United States government has often provided, and continues to provide today, financial assistance, education, arms, military training and technical support to numerous anti-leftist and anti-Islamist authoritarian regimes across the world. A variety of reasons have been provided to justify the apparent contradictions between support for dictators and the democratic ideals expressed in the United States Constitution.
Funny how so many of the right-wingers here are claiming to be adamantly opposed to having a dictatorship, yet they're actively supporting a would-be dictator, right now.

I would argue how we got rid of a dictator and his job strangling over regulating the market.
