Wild hypothetical since the US is designed to prevent a true dictatorship from ever happening...but I'm curious about people's mindset on this anyway.
Would you support someone who 100% shared your stances having absolute power in the US?
Or would you prefer the current system, even if it means the country won't necessarily be run the way you want it to be?
And if we can, let's try to not get into little catfights over whether which "side" would just *love* a dictatorship lol. Just answer as an individual.
And because I don't want this thread to turn into being about Trump or Obama or Hillary, let's pretend the dictator would be somebody completely new.
I can’t believe the results of this post!!! I voted that I WOULD support such a dictator. My pet likes would be LOW to ALMOST NO personal income tax, low property taxes with credits for not having kids, total refund of the Socialust Security theft over the years, low immigrant population, eliminate birthright citizenship, no welfare for illegals, no sales of residential homes to foreign nationals in desirable areas, no TSA, equality for all regardless of race or sexuality, taxing the churches for their gluttonous use of valuable land. Those are just SOME of the things that I would like to see in a dictator. We almost lost VUE in a dictatorship now, so what’s the difference?
Well I would eliminate welfare of all forms. Work or starve.
Better hope I never become a dictator.
And this is why a parliamentary system with less power in the executive would work better...than even our system.
IMHO, the title of the thread could be better in this sense.....it should ask about benevolent dictators rather than "how you wanted". Obviously some Americans would want 10% of the population jailed and many of the rest as indentured servants. Very few people are "complete" enough to understand even the basics of how to run a society or country.
It takes 100's of thousands in any case - even when you have a benevolent dictator.
But one thing seems clear from readings of history. Letting "the people" do it by mob (Mao in China, Pol Pot, etc.) doesn't work out too well.

Nonsense Chairman Mao increased Chinese life expectancy by over 40 years while lowering infant mortality and modernizing the country. From a agrarian nation to an industrial one Mao made the hard choices to mold China into a modern country.

Work or starve won't work, the starved would just start robbing those who work
Here's what I would do, in order to get welfare you must be in a 2 parent household. Single parents would be completely cut off. No more welfare queens in Uncle Sam's wallet raising high risk kids to grow up and be dangerous to society (see southside chicago).

How did he increase the life expectancy when he killed 50 to 80 million people?
the only way we move closer to a dictatorship in our country is that we give more power to the federal government and ignore our constitution and allow activist judges to write laws on the bench especially on immigration.
only one party and their followers lean that way with universal health care, universal education and getting rid of the 2nd amendment.
