Why would the cops not tell him what his warrant was for?

Tragic. Whether you like it or not, it is best not to fight with police.

Cleaver.

Last thing I want is a police state. Civil liberties are at the top of my list. But the laws have to change. I don't see any reason to believe with our current three branches of government that it will any time soon.

The family of Eric Garner, the black man who was choked to death by the NYC cops for selling bootleg cigarettes one at a time, received a settlement of $6 million from New York City. I wonder if Avoyelles Parish, Louisiana will pay a settlement to the family of Armando Frank and if so how much?

Resisting arrest tends not to have good outcomes.

Does not appear the victim presented a threat to the officers involved. No indication he had a weapon.
True, resisting arrest often results in tragic outcomes. As far as no weapon, a 270 lb man has fists that are potentially deadly. Still, at some point, it seems that the force became excessive....always better to submit in the face of cops, Chris Rock has a good video for a reference.

I wonder if it was worth it for the cops? They could have picked that guy up later with no altercation or possibly even diffused the situation there with a bit more brain work. But no, at some point the brawn came out pounding its chest and the Neanderthal in them took over. Belligerent guy and alpha male, adrenaline junky cops... never a good combination.

The "I'm going to arrest you for something and I won't tell you what," shouldn't ever fly either.

Can't just come and arrest a man for no reason. If they have a warrant, then they are supposed to have it when they go to arrest someone.

IDK about that, if they came and tried to arrest me with no warrant and without telling me why, I have every right to defend myself against them, just because they are cops makes no difference in my book.

Im sure there are alot of people that would just OBEY and comply no matter what!

On the other hand, if police are enforcing unconstitutional laws, then citizens most certainly should not comply or obey.

This is why I taught my kids their rights when it comes to dealing with police, NEVER to just obey anything and everything they tell you, there is a time to obey and comply and there are times when you should not, knowing the difference is key.

90% of the cops in service now do their jobs properly. its the other 10% that get on a power trip when they put on the badge, and they think that they can do what ever they want when ever they want. many of these cops are not well educated in the constitution and the law, and they make things up as they go.
