McDonalds completed its corporate relocation from suburban Oakbrook to Chicago in June. This includes Hamburger University.

Kraft Heinz, farming supplier ADM, Motorola Solutions, GE Healthcare and many more have relocated to Chicago. Caterpiller moved its corporate headquarters from Peoria to suburban Deerfield, eliminating 3200 well paying corporate jobs, down stare.

It’s all about attracting and retaining millennial technology talent that has little interest in suburbia, let alone down state. Similar corporate relocations to urban areas is happening throughout the country.

Home values have more than recovered in the most desirable areas of the city while suburban values have not remotely recovered, despite better performing schools.

While the gang- infested Chicago communities hardest hit by gun violence take to the streets to protest and demand the mayor and police superindendent resign, the mayor continues to attract business and well paying jobs.

The protestors complain these headquarters are not moving to their neighborhoods and are not creating jobs in their communities. Have these protesters not heard of public transportation? Do some protesters not realize there is a correlation between education, in demand skills and well paying jobs?

My daughter lives in Chicago.

Except for the Cubs, it's a great city.

The problems Chicago has is with some of it's outskirts which have experienced a lot of gun violence, however the city itself has always been a very succesful city.
By outskirts you mean the neighborhoods removed from the primary business/ entertainment areas?

Last year, Chicago had 55.2 million overnight visitors who spent enormous sums on lodging, dining, shopping and entertainment. No reason for any of them to venture into the 5 neighborhoods where most violence occurs.

If that's where they were going to build it, Rahm would not be chiming in.

This is going to be located at 116th Street and Avenue O.

Fantastic city to visit, but I would never live there again - even with those incredible Cubs!

I believe Schaumburg has a vision for how the former Motorola Mobility corporate park could be used.

When all these jobs actually materialize, then we'll have something to talk about.
