A U.S. Senator calling for social media to ban more sites he doesn't like or agree with. That is different than a private company stating a user violated their TOS.

And this coordinated move by so many tech giants takes these sorts of things out of the realm of hyperbole and into valid criticism.
In general, shutting people up tends to backfire quite spectacularly. It makes your side look crooked and massively dishonest, authoritarian and underhanded. And like I've said about a dozen times, it makes a conspiracy theorist look credible.

Here's the thing, CNN and all those sites own their own sites, and that's where they post. If YouTube wants to punt them all, they can fill their boots and go to town.

Sadly CNN really has gotten that bad. They've been very "guilty until proven innocent" covering investigations into Trump. It may be bad enough that many Leftists sites are open for libel and slander lawsuits if and when Trump is cleared of all charges.
Alex Jones is a nut. CNN and the Democratic propagandist stack of news media act more professionally ... except Jim Acosta screaming and ranting in the White House press room of course. I will give you that. But silencing Jones for having the wrong opinions looks really bad, just as Trump ordering the CNN be taken off the air would look really bad.
