I find it deeply disturbing that anyone should be silenced. Freedom of speech is integral to any free society. That said, misinformation is something that has to be battled as well. People cannot make informed decisions based on misinformation. Alex Jones isn't only expressing his point of view. When he makes allegations against parents grieving for their dead children, or when he puts forth conspiracy theories that have no foundation in reality, but which for some twisted reason Jones' followers want to believe, then that's an issue for a free society. Jones incites his fans to act. His entire business model depends on them acting. They purchase goods from him, based on the conspiracy fantasies he puts forth to create a market for those goods. And Jones isn't being silenced. He still has a voice, and as long as he has fans he'll be able to find a venue for that voice. That the venues he's relied on are now disavowing him is actually those venues exercising their right to free speech.
This bears repeating. I have absolutely no problem listening to, watching, or reading opposing viewpoints, but what Jones is doing goes far beyond that point. Also, what are his fans suggesting? That YouTube be forced to carry him? Wouldn't that violate their rights? I know that in their shoes, I would shut down altogether before I would help him spread his lies.
Hmm, almost what I imagine Communist China feeling like. They just recently banned the Winnie the Pooh movie in China over a meme with Xi as Pooh. Sad to see people supporting banning free speech in this country. This is a dangerous path to take
They do say this in their TOS:

They can still express their freedom of speech, they just can’t do it through YouTube and Facebook! If you want to listen to magical fairy tales go to Jones’s website, nothing is stopping you!

YouTube is owned by Google, which is a private company.
Yes, you can be banned from their private company, just as you could be banned from this site.
You can't repeatedly violate YouTube's posting standards, which are uniform to all users, and expect not to be banned.
